It was just a firecracker. One of those Gong xi fat choi Bombs i guess. The person probably had to much time in his hands.

yeah, could be just some college kid taking heed of our new higher learning minister's advice to go beyond rote-learning.

i guess the reporters that broke the story overreacted a little by calling it a bomb.

anyway, you can already see the spin reuters is trying to put on this incident. read their report here. (http://www.reuters.com/newsArticle.jhtml?type=worldNews&storyID=4694108)

the paragraph that struck me:
It was the first such incident involving a foreign embassy in mainly Muslim Malaysia and comes a week after Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi scored a landslide win against the Islamist opposition in general elections.
was this necessary?

Necessary?
Put it like that regardless of the points'relationship, just makes this news hot and catch the world attention.
May be this will be best answered by those in journalism field.

Or too much explosives for that matter. But I guess it was nothing really big anyway.

Even if it did happen. I don't think it would affect any students in Malaysia. After all, There's still thousands of Middle easterns that enter USA every month.

To students out there. Relax, take a deep breath. No terrorist is going to foil your dream to come to America.

As an American Myself, i hope nobody throws anybomb to US embassy in KL.

Oh my gosh! It's happening here in Malaysia. Could it be a terrorist attack? I don't think so. If Malaysians are thinking about joining the so called "islamic war" against the westerners, the US or UK embassy would be the first to be attacked. I think it is a personal grudge between a particular person and the australian embassy and that the media is hyping it up by linking it to some terrorist attack or something. I believe Malaysians have the right mind and sensiblity of not doing something as mad as joining the "islamic jihad". :D
