Within the last 10 days of September 2007, 3 mega shopping malls were being created, with Pavilion started the ball rolling on the 20th September, The Garden (at Mid Valley) continued it on 26th September and Sunway Pyramid 2 capped it on 29th September.

Within these 10 days, total retail space in Klang Valley has increased by 15%.

Can our market absorb this growth? Would this additional retail spaces cause a 15% increase in total retail expenditure, which would create significant ripple effect in the economy?

Or this opening would cause other smaller and older shopping mall to cut down on its operation or even suffer losses.

Can the industry sustain this growth? Would there be sufficient manpower to support this growth? Would the public be able to increase their total spendings on retail goods? How about the impact on entertainment industry, with more cinemas being opened.

How about our Food & Beverage industry? This opening would create a bunch of topics and issues for us to look into and see what the impact would bring for our community.
