this is going to trigger a lot of debate.I believe the best and politically correct answer is that these various destinations have their strength and weaknesses.Another thing to consider is that degrees from the "developed" western nations are more recognised. For example australia recognises graduates from the UK,US,NZ,Canada with certain conditions of course(they have to be registered with their respective Licensing body etc). Also Postgraduate qualifications are USUALLY recognised between these countries. So its easier to hop around if u are looking for job alternatives.
Another factor of course it the quality of students admitted into these colleges.A JPA scholar may not have choice when it comes to this, but certain countries/colleges have less stringent requirements than the the rest. This ultimately affects the quality and the reputation of the medical school though like in any circumstances ,the individual themselves chart their own destiny(if they want to know more than the rest, work harder etc).essentially speaking, there's no perfect answer to your query. If All these various factors are yoked together, you may be able to decide what suits your need best.If you are under JPA then there's no worries about recognition then because your qualification will be recognised in Malaysia

Ireland is good too. But then again, they have some kind of consortium, which determines which uni you would be placed.

I dont think the choice of country does matter when it comes to JPA medicine.
You will be serving the same person, same community, and the same country afterall when you finish it.

Well the exposure you get is different in the various countries.I Know the medics in North America get the chance to do part of their clerkship in various top notch teaching hospitals,ie Sick kids toronto,Memorial Sloan, yada yada. They even get to sit on the cancer board meetings and discuss the various diagnosis and plans for a cancer patients every week.Do u get to do this in Malaysia? All you get in malaysia is scolding from the consultant because they think they are so high and mighty, although they might not even be fully fledged consultants but just because msia is so short of doctors these people are gazzeted as specialists.Better still some of the teachings are done by MO's

If you're talking about qualities, they are more or less the same. The significant different is the amount of money spent on a student, and quality of living... Just a simple example, fried rice in Malaysia will cost you RM3.50, but in Singapore, you can only get with RM 8.00++ if you convert into RM.

It raised my eyebrows when you said you teacher thinks the medical course in Czech and Poland are on par with the one you get in the UK. It's quite a hilarious point to ponder, perhaps you should do some research on the entrance requirements for those medical schools and compare it. The only ''better off'' university in Poland is the Warsaw University. My friend turned down his offer for medicine in poland because he was told allocation will be done randomly, which means you might just get allocated to a lousier University even if you obtained perfect scores in your examinations. I'm not here to condemn the medical schools in those countries but the UK medical schools don't get their reputation without a reason(even though it's partly because they've been there for hundreds of years). Besides, my friend who turned down the offer was even more discouraged when he met one of the other JPA offer holder who was given a scholarship to read medicine in Czech Republic. My friend was absolutely amazed by the inability of that guy to converse properly in English, and it kept my chin up for the whole night reading the text messages he sent to my friend.(i loved his grammar)

Last year was the very first year where JPA officially started to send students to Poland for medicine, or in other words, first batch of Poland-bound students is still studying pre-U in Malaysia. I wonder where your friend got the info...
Anyway, for Czech Republic students, they are given the chance to sit for entrance exam of best university in Czech if their results are good, and those with not-so-good results will sit for entrance exam of lower-ranked universities... But I think there's nothing to worry about if you're a JPA scholar, JPA won't send their students to lousy universities...
