The documents that must be brought on that day are the original and one certified copies of

1. IC
2. Result Slip
3. Born certificate
4. Both father and mother born certificates
5. Letter of completion of secondary school
6. Residence certificate (Parents)
7. Retirement card/Salary slip
8. Certificate of cocurricular activity (Form 4 and Form 5 ONLY)
9. Certificate of foreign language (if any)
10. Family's income form
11. Letter of involvement in 'Exposure to Career as a Doctor Programme' (for potential doctors only!)

Alot of questions about the dress code have arisen in this forum.

For males, I would recommend formal attire - long sleeves with tie,black slacks, black shoes.

For females, formal attire a.k.a. office wear should be fine but I would recommend baju kurung as most of the interviewers are bumiputras.

Well, it was stated on JPA website that the minimum requirement for applying its scholarship is at least 8A1s. Some of my friends who hold 4A1s/5A1s with average cocurricular record are shortlisted in this interview.

Your teacher is a fool. There is absolutely no room for mistakes when it comes to these things!!
Request a letter from him clarifying his mistakes. In my opinion, he has an obligation to do it for you!!

Essentially, for JPA Scholarships, you do not depend on the marks of co-cu.

What matters are the co-cu that you fill up in the form online. And that will depend on your form. So, as long as you fill up the actual one online, then you are not losing any mark at all.

I don't think you need that. It's really ridiculous to bring all those documents when a scholarship is given to the student, and not the parents.

It is not impossible to produce your parents' original birth cert. but I think photocopied IC will be as good as producing the birth certs.

If you can somehow produce the original birth certs and you are skeptical/nervous about JPA people, just bring them alone. If you don't have, then you can resort to just bringing the ICs and inform them politely how you are unable to produce the birth certs. :wink

Do bring everything that's asked for & arrange them accordingly in a clear folder. The officers on duty at the centre might not have time to listen to u.
Parents' birth certs are important to proof the 'kewarganegaraan' or place of birth of ur parents since the scholarship is meant for anak warganegara Malaysia sahaja. I.C would not have all these details.
Btw, one can easily get the copy of the birth cert. fr. the Jab. Pendaftaran.

Of course, by all means, if you can produce them, bring them. It's just that a lot of our parents might not have their birth certs with them anymore. That can be a little troublesome for our friends who wish to bring the original copies of those documents.

I think most of them will wear baju kurung, since this is the best formal attire for interview.

Ujian PILN? You mean the psychology test? Almost the same with the Holland Assessments In Adult Career Counseling (Google it)

Its been clearly stated on the JPA surat thing. If you don't bring you are asking for trouble!

Maybe you don't meet their requirements, eg moral, bm and sej at least 2A.

Or maybe you don't meet the course requirements that you are applying for, eg Accounting-must take prinsip perakaunan or ekonomi(not too sure).

Need not to be sad, somebody closes your door, you should open another one for you.

me 8am, ptpl too..geez dat's early!!!!

i've done a mock interview in my school n u're required to wear shoes! like the one woman wears to office, preferably not too stylish..just formal black/brown..n make sure the heels r not too high! half inch is good..

as for clothes, u can wear a suit/ baju kurung...make sure the colours suits u. not too bright/colourful...no jewelleries, a plain bracelets is fine. Do wear wrist watch as it shows how much u appreciate time..(dat's what my teacher said)

Btw, how should the certificates in the cocurriculum part be arranged?
Are we going to be interviewed together with people who applied for the same course or are we going to be interviewed together with random people applying for random courses?

I don't think you need that. It's really ridiculous to bring all those documents when a scholarship is given to the student, and not the parents.

It is not impossible to produce your parents' original birth cert. but I think photocopied IC will be as good as producing the birth certs.

If you can somehow produce the original birth certs and you are skeptical/nervous about JPA people, just bring them alone. If you don't have, then you can resort to just bringing the ICs and inform them politely how you are unable to produce the birth certs. :wink

If don't have don't pandai pandai bring la... Save you the trouble!

I think probably if they are foreigners only they will have that. Ask your parensts, they should know. My parents are Malaysians born in malaysia anyway so I dont have to bring that document.

To be on the safe side/extra safe, you can bring your parents' certified photocopy of ICs, but i think not necessary. Do not bring their originals, they cannot afford going out without their ICs.

i still think we have to follow the list given by the jpa department. if the parents who have lost their birth certs, i think it is possible to head to the pejabat pendaftaran and ask for one or a temporary one.

If you have it, bring it.Since its already stated VERY clearly that they want it. Lost birth certs are a seperate case. That one I'm not sure what you have to do.

if u got in merlimau, it'll be in the politeknik merlimau. i've been there before. its quite easy to get there or maybe u could ask around the melaka folks for directions beforehand. as for the attire i think there are previous post about the attire already. at least check it out yourself 1st.

ah, i have a lot of questions to ask! anyone with answers, please do answer them cuz the butterflies in my stomach refuse to fly away until my curiosity is paid off!

Regarding the things needed to be brought:
1. Are we supposed to bring the original copies of our parents' birth certs?
2. If our parents are Malaysians (stated in birth certs), we dont have to bring any "sijil kewarganegaraan ibu bapa", do we?

Regarding the test/essay:
1. The test we are supposed to do online, is it a Psychology Test?
2. If we are supposed to do an essay, will it be during the interview?
3. How much time will be given for us to complete the essay?

Regarding the interview:
1. Roughly how long will the interview be?
2. Say my interview is supposed to be at 2pm, around what time will it end?
3. Are we allowed to choose to speak in English or Malay, or will the interviewers decide for us?
3. For the introduction part, what are the things that should be mentioned? i.e name, interest, personality..?

Okay this is so far what I know. Not guaranteed.
Regarding the things needed to be brought:

I told him that and he still insisted on putting them in a clear folder. I think he is more tense about this interview than I am...We'll just see where it goes...

U could bring the clear holder and a copy that is clipped. Just in case they dont wanna take the clear folder u got the clipped copy to avpid hassle :D

Better clip em together or put in a single file(transparent plastic ones that cost rm1) cause they want to keep the photostated copies and I sure you dont wanna give em your nice clear folder..

Vaan if i put the certified photostated copies in another clear holder n during interview i will hand them the two files. After that, i will ask them to keep the file containing the photostated copies (including the clear holder). Is it possible?

Actually it is not recommended for anyone to put it in a clear folder....The interviewer dun browse through the photocopies they browse through the original ones...they will take our photocopies for refferences later( i think)... you will create more work for yourself if they ask you to take it out... Another thing........you can clip the photocopies as how you like it to be...these matters are very subjective...the interviewers would not deduct marks just because we clip it at the side like a book or if we just use a paper clip....

One thing is important though...just make sure the photocopies are not crumpled and do not have " telinga anjing"..tat is very important...

you can either use paper clip(for smaller stacks) or perhaps the clips*dunno what's the name*(in many coulours) that u can buy in supermarket stationery department.
