More likely early of 2009. If I'm not mistaken, somewhere around March. Typically, its application period is rather short. So, it's advisable to prepare and certify all the documents needed beforehand.

Hey hi! Sorry for getting back so late. Sorry for not sharing on the interview too. I was down with fever 4 hours after the assessment and for the next couple of days. I had to pack up that same week too for Singapore. It wasn't because of the assessment though. I'll put the blame on our public transport. Anyway, to NingNing, I was in ballroom 2 on the 21st. To Natrisya, thanks for the best wishes. I think the assessment was really enriching though I probably didn't pay as much attention as I should. I doubt it will work out very well for me.

Are you a SimeDarby scholar? If i am not mistaken, the bond is 6-7years. Normally they prefer to send majority of the students to study locally or if you are lucky to be chosen to overseas, Australia is their prefer choice.

I refer to pre-u scholarship for the above explanation.

I seriously dont think that i can get the same results for actual SPM.. i REALLY need financial help. i am wondering does sime darby offer pre-u scholarship based on actual SPM results?

Yes Sime Darby does offer pre-u scholarships for those who have gotten their actual SPM results. So you'll just have to keep an eye out for the applications after your results are out - say in March or so. the ones in October are for those using their trial results. No worries about that. =)

i've been through the interview based on my trial this year and made it to the final one..from what they say, sime darby offers a wide range of courses from accountancy to engineering..you can check their website on what they are involved in..i applied for civil while one of my friend opted for accountancy..but i think they are not offering medicine yet..if u get the scholarship (the one based on trial) you'll be doing your foundation in uniten starting late this february for one and a half year..and from what i heard from the interviewer, they are sending the scholars to US into ivy league uni..but this is the scholarship based on your trials and i don't know if its the same for the ones based on spm results..

Hello. Im Daniel. I got the Sime Darby Pre-U scholarship last year but put it aside for a JPA one.

According to Sime Darby (last year), if you secured the Pre-U scholarship, it is automatically extended to an undergraduate scholarship. There is no other further application process. Meaning, its a pre-u-undergrad combo scholarship.

It was an awesome interview, lol. For further clarification, Sime Darby has actually three stages of interview:

1. Telephone interview
2. Interview in KL with the Human Resource execs
3. Second interview in KL with the company leaders (top shots)

I only went for the interview, didn't get the scholarship. But hope this helps.

I think the course meant is which course that you would like to pursue(engineering, biotech, etc). Pre-U no choice. You can't choose any Pre-U course because SD will decide which Pre-U course to send you to. My friends got into SAM in Taylors. Try asking the other seniors, I can't quite remember what I did last time.

What happened last year was they split you into 2 groups, namely group A and group B. Group A starts with the group interview while Group B starts with the solo interview.

In group interview, they'll basically ask you to form a group, then they'll give you a topic, discuss on it, present it and have a Q&A session.

In solo interview, 2 people will interview you, just like how it was in Petronas trial interview last year.

Don't have to worry though, it was pretty fun and relaxing, you get to meet great people. Just try your best and have fun ^^

kept for reference means if there are still some places because the students who are shortlisted for the 1st batch do not want the scholarship offer, then Sime Darby will call us.

Even I think its personally screwed up system especially with people scoring straight A1 with good 'koko' can be rejected.

It do need human touch. So be patient. If no updates, try calling them again next week.

Basically what happened in my year(last year) was that they email ONLY those who are shortlisted. I did not receive any emails for the second interview, and 2 weeks after the 2nd interview only did I actually receive an email from them, haha

For last year first round, it was a one-day affair. We got in in the morning, and they split us into two groups and the main agenda of the day is 1-group activity and 2-individual assessment. So they will go pick the first group to go for group work and the other group will have their individual asst. with another group of coordinators, and then swap over in the afternoon. For the group work, you'll be split into smaller groups of about 4-5 people each, where you're given a topic and you'll have to generate ideas to support the topic given. At the end of the stipulated time you'll have to present it (in a group) to the others, where they will ask you questions about your topic. After that you'll have to write an essay regarding another topic given. Lunch break. After that individual assessment where they will ask you about your choice (in course), extra curricular achievements, some questions regarding why you chose - or could be even about the company or something in general. After that it ends. And you twiddle your thumbs til the second interview call-up =).

For my year, they offered my Uniten which they told me was a local scholarship. I rejected it. And later, I heard the rest of the scholars were re-offered with an overseas scholarship where after pre-u, they will go aussie for degree.
