well.. talking about job opportunity.... you can get a good job in whatever field, it all depends on yourself! Even if got somebody get a very good career in the A field, but not mean that you will be the same in the A field too, right? Hope you get what I mean here. If you just want to consider about what course is good for you to study to get a bright future, I would still say the same as what I said before in previous post at other thread, just study what you interested in! 8)

yeah, basically it depends on how good you are, compared to what is the field. As long as you do well in anything you do, create a niche skill sets and soft skills of yourself, you will be fine~! Most people do not work in the field that they study...you just learn how to learn..

There are PLENTY of jobs for ICT - but yu have to be properly skilled before getting the job. It is sad that many "IT" graduates don't really know much on the job. Contrary to many other engineering professions, IT market usually provides relatively less "training" after you get on the job. One is expected to be more or less competent (unless this is your 2nd / 3rd job, of which you've found some company's sandbox and played there for a while) straight out of school.
Again, there are PLENTY of IT jobs in Malaysia, more often than not, I hear small company employers say that they know computers better than their "IT guy" (or gal)...

Plenty of jobs here but if you have a Masters instead of a degree chances are definitely brighter.. in IT you have to find an avenue to be better than the rest (in fact applies to all other jobs too), then you stand a higher chance of getting the job

I am not too sure about the salary for a graphic designer, but I think generally a degree holder will get a starting pay of about RM2000-RM3000. If you have a lot of other skills, you could go beyond RM3000. I know of some friends from UTM, UNITEN, MMU who have gotten beyond RM3000 as a fresh graduate.

Isn't it a little too late to take up IT, especially with the intention to work in that field? Now the job is hot coz everyone realizes IT is important and everyone needs a comp... But if we start learning now, graduate 4 years later, and we go into the work market, won't it be saturated by then? Coz lots of ppl are learning it... And they graduated before we do...

IT looks saturated now - with the dotcom rush, everyone was jumping into the boat (some students were even forced by their parents to do IT).
That said IT is a rapidly expanding field - IMHO you will be able to find a niche in IT as there are so many areas. And it will take a person a lifetime to learn them all, therefore - you need to choose your niche. IT and Comp.Science is a bit different: there are still areas in which computer science are in demand.
Basically to survive in this field now:
1. You must be prepared to constantly learn new things.
2. All on your own initiative.
3. Differentiate or Die!
1 thing is essential to all 3 points- you must have the interest.

Doesn't that pretty much describe all fields? Or at least most fields that are at the forefront of technology?

Actually yes. But some other fields have been progressing slower compared to IT eg chemical eng, (nanotech yet?) etc so it won't be as hard to survive as in IT. You wouldn't expect what you study in college/u for 3 years to suddenly be obsolete but sadly thats very true for IT.
