The closing date is today(28th April) and i just got the mail minutes ago. Those who are interested DO call to the nearest centre NOW or tomorrow as i think not many know about this award and they maybe will let you sit for the test. The contact number is on the link at the bottom.
The Japan Foundation would like to invite eligible Japanese Language learners to apply for the above 15 days study tour to Japan. Applicants must attain a minimum proficiency level equivalent to the level 3 of the Japanese Language Proficiency Test and above. All applicants must sit for a a written test scheduled at
3pm on Saturday, 8th May 2004
Purpose
This program is intended to offer outstanding students of the Japanese language at universities, colleges, and educational institutions abroad the opportunity to visit Japan and to deepen their knowledge of the Japanese language, society, and culture for the purpose of further encouragement of their study.
Contents of the Program
1) Lectures on the Japanese language, and social and cultural aspects
of Japan;
2) Experience of Japanese culture;
3) Visit to industrial facilities and historical sites, etc.; and
4) Home stays
Allowances and Facilities
During the program Japan Foundation will provide the
participants with the following:
・ Returned Air Ticket (Economy Class)
・ Airport Tax and Foreign Travel Tax (If any)
・ Accommodations
・ Meals
・ Miscellaneous Living Expenses
・ Overseas Travel Accident Insurance
・ Book Allowance
・ Expenses incurred by the program itself.
Eligibility
Malaysians who:
1) are presently studying the Japanese language or have finished studying it at educational institutions of the Japanese language, outside Japan.;
2) have achieved a minimum level of Level 3 in the Japanese-Language Proficiency Test or its equivalent;
3) are not Japanese language teachers at present;
4) are not supposed to be employed as Japanese-language teachers at the time of application;
5) are between the ages of 18 and 54 as of April 1, 2004;
6) have not stayed in Japan for more than 1 week (7days) during the period between April 1999 and March 2004;
7) are in good physical and mental health;
8) have not completed compulsory education in Japan;
9) are not scheduled to come Japan for study or training except under this program;
