Assalaam-u-alaikum dan selamat sejahtera kepada semua,

As pointed earlier, Bahasa Melayu is a phonetic language, like Arabic, and is best written (and read!) in a phonetic script, like Arabic.

A faculty member at Tokyo University has established a useful repository of Jawi resources here:

http://homepage3.nifty.com/tao/jawi-study/index-en.html

Let's work to revive this beautiful script -- insha'Allah, it'll go a long way towards reviving Bahasa in Malaysia.

waalaikumussalam Abdullah,

hey, this is really good.! Thanks Abdullah!.
they do have the Unicode too. That's nifty.
maybe we can build some Jawi Browser. (sounds like Java Browser).

Unfortunately, I don't understand Japanese. I'll leave it to other
sensei(s) at Recom.

arigato guzaimas. <-- (this one, of course, I know).

You might want to give the post a more descriptive title. I thought it was a troll spamming the forums when I saw a bunch of scrambled symbols :)

Edit: Hmm so phpnuke doesn't parse the title as HTML code

Yeah, I think it is very essential to come up with a more descriptive title. This topic will be an interesting one for discussion.

I see, I thought it's my Safari Browser problem.
btw, I already change the title to a more descriptive one.

Thanks for correcting the subject heading. The jawi came out fine in my browser, but when submitted, it was all scrambled.

Also, I wanted to post from within the Bahasa Kita forum, but the post ended up in a separate location (this n00b is still finding his way around the system).

Salaam = Peace.
