country after completing pre-uI don't think the country being sent to need to be discussed here as most of the PSD scholars having their A-level in UCSI will be sent to UK upon their completion of the study. :))

i ask a senior there.. she said all students there r required to take 4 subjects bio, chem, phy, maths, so no need to choose. there r not many students there, there will b only 60 new jpa students going there. her batch is around 70.. with bumi and non-bumi about half-half.. about food, students buy food from canteen. their roommates r arranged according to birthdays bt requests of changing of rooms can be permitted. i ask her is it true college subsidize laptop like wat's said in the bronchure, she said no le.. duno. every wed nite got a pasar malam near ucsi, can walk there to buy daily necessities n food

Yes those three..i rly hope we all will pass our a lvl with flying colours and fly to our selected countries.. since JPA require us to pass the cut-off point although the unis requirement is sometimes lower than the cut-off point.

The anyone else going is herm , dashyat also , 11A1 + 2A2 .
So , my conclusion is to get UK and Ireland is difficult ( since UCSI caters students who are sent to UK and Ireland ) .

Well , my add-in content :
(a) JPA students who will be going to UCSI will stay in in-campus hostel ( no air-conditioner , T.T )
(b) I went to UCSI to have a look at their hostel yesterday . So these are what provided in the room -- wadrobe (very suffient) , shoes rack , long study desk , one lamp , two single beds and dustbin . Besides , there is pantry , living room , bathroom on the GF ( I think every floor will have the same structure )
(c) The Angkasa off-campus is very very NEAR , 5 minutes walk away , I think . Wonder why UCSI still has shutter bus from the off-campus hostel to UCSI campus .
(d) MANY eateries here ~~ McDonald , Secret Recipe , dim sum , chicken rice and more ~~ By the way , there'll be the LARGEST night market in Malaysia every wednesday , just right in front of the shophouses nearby .

Are you sure about eateries mentioned ni (d) cause when I went there nothing and the Giant Hypermarket there like ghost town only, shops closed.
I saw Secret Recipe, err.... dumb dumb chicken, I forget ad.

1. Not wajib to take 4 subjects, minimum must take 3 subjects. Hope I don't scare you but if I'm not mistaken there will be additional subjects like Pengajian Am and Pendidikan Moral that we have to study too but only around 3 weeks like that (not sure heard from my friends)

3. Hey, don't freak out if you see lots of negros there. Plus, UCSI is not like Taylor or Sunway where most of the chinese (banana chinese) speaks english. Most of the chinese here speaks Mandarin or Cantonese.

For (3) No offense but it's a popular phrase by those chinese educated chinese used to er sort of tease those english educated chinese.

Banana Chinese - Banana, yellow skin outside but when peeled, the flesh is white means outside you're a chinese, you know how to speak english but you don't know how to speak, write, and read Mandarin and any chinese dialects.

Mango Chinese - Mango, both flesh and skin is orange means you're a pure chinese. You know how to speak Mandarin and any other chinese dialects fluently but you don't speak well and good english.

It is about funny experiences of 8 ReCommers while they are traveling to UCSI. During their traveling time, they shall meet each other and in the end, eight people from all walks of life shall travel together a single road to UCSI!!

Hi, I heard from UCSI staffs that JPA scholars (girls) this year will be staying at North-wing in-campus hostel (2 ppl per room), which is quite far from the A-level block.. Anyway, it is newer and bigger... Hope this info helps..

Have no idea what to bring or not sure about what are things that you can bring or in the opposite way before you go to UCSI?
If you are arranged to have your stay in the residential hall, you may need:

Medicine (Though there is a doctor there)
Unwanted dry cloth
Bloom and cleaning tools
Umbrella
A water bottle (Water is supplied to the hostel)
A food container
Hanger (To hang your extra clothes)
Washing powder (Laudry Service is available, actually)
Laptop (Optional, No many assignments there)
Pillow (If you wish to)
Blanket
A tablelamp

Things which are not allowed in residential hall / hostel, anyway, you can bring them but remember to be smart when keeping them, there are frequent spot-checks to check whether you bring such stuffs to the hostel)

Iron
Rice-cooker

Well, if you are going to have a stay in condominium, you need to bring your kettle for boiling water. And, There are water coolers and water-filter machines in the college, you can reach them if you like a refill. Refrigerators are present in your room too (whether it is each for each room, this one I am not quite sure)

yup, erm, basically the piano rooms are packed with music students from 9 to 5 . so , go there b4 9 or after 6 pm, u can play grand piano if u want to. And the school of music have recitals, concert, choir, symphony and orchestra night in both contemporary and classical . If u are a music lover, i can guarantee u will have a fun time studying here. Many of my classmates are pianolovers too. we often go there together after dinner. Something i want to add on, there are 3 rooms with two pianos, its very ideal to play 4hands piano.

Oh ya, do u guys know u have to take physics as well??

if u are physic-phobia, dont be afraid. All physics lecturers are experienced, in other words , quite old.

hi....i m stuying in ucsi, a psd scholar like u all too..
however only 3 uni accept international students.

and be prepared for it...limited places and stiff competitions all over the world



haha....our batch(2007) there's only 12 boys out of 78 scholars ///so , i supposed its the same for the incoming batch.

and for the piano ehnthusiast, congrats on sailing your way to UCSI. here, we can use the piano day and night( up to 11pm if the guards are lazy to shooo u away).

i think 99 % here using photocopies for our textbooks....dont worry. no one will force u to buy the ori, if u are afraid of price. just to let u know, for biology, we have 4 textbook for unit 1 2 4 5 , each book will cost u rm60++

:) About the textbook thingy, I wish to ask the similar question: Do we need to pay for the books, no matter they are photocopies or original copies. It is better if we need not to pay for them. :( Wow, there is pretty scary about the number of textbooks for each subject, I am wondering is the syllabus (A-level) similar to that studied by current Form 6 students? Well, I have brought a lot of Form 6 books that I bought before, I hope they don't make much difference. If they do, :cry I have wasted about MYR 90.

oooo...ic. Actually i dont mind whether the books are ori or not....as long as it can be used:P. Basically i prefer photocopies books cause they are cheap n they have the same functions as ori books:P. Thanks 4 the info...it's really helpful to me:)
