View Full Version : Do you know whether your regular Bak Chang contains boric-acid?

So back to the topic,any idea whether the bak chang you buy at your regular neighbourhood is boric acid free?
PS:I'm so tired today I'm gonna go sleep,see ya'll tommorrow...hehe...

The ones that I usually eat in my family are usually self made along with my relatives from my mom's side at random weekends and the dumpling festivals. Thus I am sure that it doesn't contain boric acid :P

tonnes of other foodstuff in malaysia have boric acid as well..fishballs,the "yellow noodles"..i love fishballs..never got to eat any ..damn! .everytime i have bihun soup back in malaysia my mum will insist i keep away from the fisballs or fishcakes

self made without boric acid is usually really sticky and the shape is not really nice, those with boric acid are perfectly shape and shiny. i've tried make both before, with and without boric acid.

Is it too much for me to say you lack skill? :P My grandmother and aunt make beautiful dumplings without boric acid.

most contain boric acid, even self made oneshah! You should come and try our very traditional home made bak zhangs to see if it really contains boric acid ;) All the ingredients are from natural sources

Even if they do, I'd still eat them in large quantity anyway..
