I did not get scholarship from JPA and PETRONAS

My name is Mohd.Nazeer.I am a science class student.I juz finish my SPM with all A1 and 1 A2(bahasa malaysia).I have applied for JPA, PETRONAS and TELEKOM scholarship.But iI did"nt get any of the scholarship.JPA and PETRONAS did'nt even call me for a interview.I was rejected straight away.I also have applied for goverment matriculation,but it was also rejected.Now, i duno wat to do.JPA did'nt give me a chance to be interviewed.Can u tell me how i can appeal for JPA scholarship(at least they call me for an interview)?????Can u tell me which is the best between goverment matriculation,STPM and A-level.I am really in confused......? I don't know what to do now?

Hi Mohd Nazeer, first of all, Welcome to join ReCom family~!

I would say that what that has happened to you is pretty unfortunate. However, I think right now, the best thing to do is to see what you can do right now.

For JPA interview, the best way to deal was to send in an appeal letter immediately after the name list of those students called up for interview was released. Perhaps you haven't appealed. There are a number of students who appealed then, got called up for interview eventually.

Although it is way beyond time, the best thing you could do is to submit an appeal letter, a very convincing one to JPA. Short (3 paragraphs or so ) and sweet, appealing to get JPA Scholarship. State what program you applied, attach your SPM results and Curriculum Vitae, describe briefly your main achievements, thanks them ahead.

Although the chance of them calling you up is very low, there is no harm in doing that. Because if you don't appeal, you will have 0% chance of getting JPA scholarship.

You can do the same for Petronas, although Petronas tends not to accept appeal letter.

For matriculation, do the same thing. Send in an appeal letter and appeal ASAP. For matriculation, I think you can try to go to one of the centers and check on whether you can get the principal's approval to study and get supports for appeal.

Try this first. Stay calm.

On whether matriculation, STPM or A Level is better, check up the thread of F6, as it touches on this issue.

If you are looking for scholarship in local college or univesities, i think you still stand a big chance of getting it. (including PETRONAS)
You may ask you parents to bring you directly to the college or the universities with your resume and certs.

by the way, do not give up and try your best as said above by Chen Chow :wink:
