--- As instructed by the writeer of this wonderful document, they are not your help desk for your project! ---

To all asking technical questions,
http://www.catb.org/~esr/faqs/smart-questions.html

I thought this might be a good comparison, especially in this section of the forums, where occasionally we do get really bad questions asked. It is really worth reading this.

After that, you can observe a few of our threads and see it manifest itself. Just see how many threads ends up with STFW (well, we're more polite here, but it's the same thing) or RTFM. Others however, turns into intellectual discussions, pleasing both the person asking the question and the person answering it.

On the other hand, I'm not saying this forum is full of "hackers", i.e. not everybody mind having bad questions at all. I think those who can help are "just here to help", but still, much of the principles applies, e.g. questions too short, questions not well specified, person posting did not do his/her homework before posting etc.

btw, what's your favorite "bad question" on ReCom so far?

Hihi, i've read that thing quite awhile ago. I dont see it happening in recom too often. If this was a help forum like the one i frequent over here http://www.dslreports.com/forum/seasiabb then yes.

It is kinda pathethic sometimes when you have to read Oh my Streamyx is down in 5 different threads a day. :D
