South Africa will host the 2010 world cup. It seems like a logical choice to me as they have the best facilities in Africa and they've already hosted the Rugby and Cricket world cups. I just wish that one day Malaysia will be able to bid for the world cup. Hopefully before Bukit jallil is old. It would be nice if we could tie a bid to 2020 so that maybe 2022 is a realistic opportunity? Malaysia reaches developed nation status and hosts the world cup. That would be a good theme. What do you think?

I think that it will be a good development for the Africa region with the world cup going that way. For Malaysia to host world cup, I think what we need to do is to build up a strong foundation in our local players. Perhaps hosting World Cup will create lots of awareness among Malaysians, but I think we need to see where should we prioritize.

I think we have been able to prove to the world through our strong organizational skills, in SUKOM 98, Sea Games, international competitions in various sports, with World Youth Cup being one of it. Majority of those players from World Youth Cup is currently in the Olympic Team, where we had a draw and 5 lost with 3 Asian giants (South Korea, China and Iran). So, what do you guys think about the standing of Malaysia. A good thing to derive is that we can now give China a run of their money in soccer. Perhaps that is a good indication. Akmal Rizal got a trial with Norwich etc...

So, the question will be whether hosting World Cup will help our country in boosting our standard of soccer in Malaysia.
