i think it is underestimated from the gov side.

the gov feels that the matriculation will be an easy trampoline for some to get into our local unis.but they fail too see that most matriculation graduates have less knowledge and maturity compare to those from f6 and hence are left out in the ultimate race in the unis.sure they are few who do well, but the majority slack off.

it will be a chain reaction.most matriculation graduates who fail to compete at unis with the STPM takers will have a lesser CGPA figures and hence lower job and hence will receive lower pay, and hence will live in a the same old neighborhood.and will have only a small social mobility.

in this case, since SPM is starting to be the worst way of judging our students,STPM must be made compulsory to e'body.i mean, changing PMR with PTL.and keeping SPM and making STPM as compulsory sound more sense for me,to say the least.

agree with phantom.STPM and matriculation.why compare apple and orange?recalled there is a malaysiakini article on this..why waste government resources supporting both STPM (government schools) and matriculation (MRSM, other government colleges,etc..)?
