October 2: Moderation of New Member Registration (Ended)

Dear members and visitors,

Please be informed that we are currently moderating all new user registrations in our forum. If you are registering a new account, please be patient as we verify your identity and enable your account.

For your information, ReCom.org has been attacked by spam bots in the last two days. Within this time, more than 50 new "members" have signed up and have posted spam posts ranging from pornographic content to pill advertisements. This spam onslaught is currently affecting many different forums worldwide, and this is apparently due to the hacking of the user verification process employed during new user registration process. Therefore, we are forced to temporarily switch to the new-user moderation system to hinder the current deluge of spams.

We will reinstate the new member option as soon as vBulletin can address the current issue. The moderator team apologise for any inconvenience caused.

The method is not perfect but at least it helps with the temporary fix while we work on a more permanent fix.

Members, if you see any suspicious usernames or if you see any pornographic threads, please use the "reported post" function so that the staff can be informed as soon as it happens.
