Anyone can teach me how to write the discussion for quadrat sampling and line transect? Perhaps seniors who ever did this can teach me...TQ:))

i am not a senior and indeed i am same batch with you... i have just done my ecology project... this is the extract of what i did for the discussion of quadrat sampling and line transect...

First of all, since the investigated area is way too large for us to count all the plant, we carried out the experiment of determination of density of plant species in a habitat using quadrat sampling technique and line transect sampling technique. During the process of experiment, we did 10 quadrats sampling and 10 line transect sampling so that it would be better and more precise. This is because we carried out the experiment for a few more times.

Besides, we should not collect any specimen unless we were required to do so. We also must not collect specimen more than the amount we needed because we might upset the balance of community at the investigated area.

In certain territories, we might not be able to identify every single species at a habitat. Thus, whenever we encountered some unidentified plants, we gave it a temporary name like ?Grass X? or ?Tree Y? and searched for the name later.

As for the experiment of air content of soil determination, we could repeat the procedures in the same soil sample for a few times to get a more accurate value of air content in that particular soil sample.

Lastly, it is often enlightening to count and compare the numbers of plant belonging the principal species which at investigated area at different time of the years.
