Hey guys! I'm taking SAT later this year 2009. Anybody wanna study together? Do group study? :P preferably with people in PJ area. then can share knowledge, books and stuff while helping each other. I'm taking SAT 1 and SAT2 Physics, Math level 2 and World History :P.

Great to see you initiating this. It would be great if you guys could have group study session, and maybe some ReComers who have done well in SAT, could step forward to guide them!

To fellow ReComers who aspire to study in US, this would be a good time to start preparing!

Good Luck!

Thank you :)). Yes it will be a great benefit if many could join. It will save cost and time because you won't need to sign up for expensive not-so-worth it-because-one-or-twice-a week-only-tuition fees-that-are-only-one-or-two-hours-long :P.

Why need to learn from a teacher that you pay who won't really guarantee your success (or his or her credibility :P) when you can build connection and learn among ourselves, share knowledge on everything, for free :)).

The connections that we make and the knowledge that we shared in this present time would benefit us in the future until after we graduated as we can build a bond in advance and bring the country up when we come back sometime in the future, you'll never know that the person who you were studying with or the person who taught you for the exam is your future business partner, your own research team member or somebody you might need help from using his or her major or specialty :)).

We learn from the best, go home in the future and build everything in a better way in our own way :amuse

PS: I'm also looking for some Princeton Review SAT 1 and SAT 2 Math level 2 books (I dont mind 2008 editions as well). Been trying to search for second hand ones in the market place and everywhere :cry

I have the PR SAT II Maths L1+L2. However, I completed most of it with a pen. Would you still be interested in acquiring the book?

Xero, I'm greatly interested in joining the study group. Currently I am living in KL, but I'm a Malaccan. So sometimes I may go back to my home town. Anyway I have a Barron's World History. Do you want it? It's totally new. I'm planning to take Maths2, Physics and Chemistry. Just feel free to PM me.
Thanks
Regards.

Hey people!

It's great to see you guys taking the initiative to start a study session in preparing for your SATs. As a former US-bound student, I must say that the SATs do have a significant weight on your applications, regardless of the schools that you've applied to. If you cannot perform exceptionally well for the SAT Reasoning, you can always buck up in your SAT Subjects Test.

I'm not sure if you guys have heard of this book - Barron's 2400 - the book itself should be able to help you guys with the different techniques which you can employ for the SAT Reasoning. I would also suggest you guys to get the official SAT Study Guide and have a post-mortem on each test. This method - the Xiggi Method - really helped me with my CR scores...although not exactly very spectacular. For the SAT Subjects Tests, please do not go for Princeton Review's.

But at the same time, DO NOT NEGLECT YOUR PERSONAL STATEMENT/ESSAYS! It is even more important because that would be like, the only thing that the admission committee could use to distinguish you from the rest of the straight As scoring and strong ECAs applicant pool. I think I screwed mine so...Anyway, start brainstorming for your essays now!

Alright, guess I better stop here. Sorry for the verbal diarrhea...

Hey guys, I took the SAT a few years ago and I got what I consider a decent score. If you guys have any trouble with specific questions during your discussions, feel free to drop me a PM.
