On-line fantasy games have booming economies and citizens who love their political systems. Are these virtual worlds the best place to study the real one?

It was the seventy-seventh richest country in the world.
And it didn't even exist.
that's funny :)

Except, possibly, for EverQuest, the world's first truly egalitarian polity. Everyone begins the same way: with nothing. You enter with pathetic skills, no money, and only the clothes on your back. Wealth comes from working hard, honing your skills, and clever trading. It is a genuine meritocracy, which is precisely why players love the game, Castronova argues. "It undoes all the inequities in society. They're wiped away. Sir Thomas More would have dreamt about that possibility, that kind of utopia," he says.
I love this part. Fictional but true .. now I have a reason to play Ragnarok Online this summer :)

RO is now becoming more and more popular among the online gamers and most of the RO gamers are among 15-25 age group people. RO have some kind of cartoonish background but the interaction is so huge that i think it is the reason RO is gaining popularity among gemers. but since RO launches pay to play system, many people switch to Gunbound.

RO is so fun. i am a RO fan. i play at loki server. can contact me if you play also.

i am a RO player(well that was a lon time ago). The graphic is very nice. Well i am considering the anime characters are very "kwaii" (cute) + the 3D surounddings + various spells and skills and tonnes of monsters, this games could be one of the best game i ever played.

But now i think RO simply just like any other game. its boring when you level up tooooooo SSSSSSLLLLLLLOOOOOWWWWWW!!!!! :( thats why i stop playing them. it is boring!! and a waste of money. now, one day cupon sells RM6 each + Cyber fees. it is not like i am palying at my house. :x

As a conclusion, RO is a VERY NICE GAME... ONLY when you HAVE STREAMYX + a very fast computers... which means you are very "loaded". 8)

i just want to add more about the topic Game Theories.

there are a lot of games ot there. you can simply choose any type you want that suits your playing style... (whatever thats means).

there are RPG, Action, SIMulation, RTS, Strategy, etc. in each games there are different theories... (i mean in the way for you to complete it). for example, the FAMOUS Final Fantasy VII (a RPG), this game requies you to complete certain mission. in order to complete this mission you have to complete something that i call "syarat kelakuan peristiwa" or "event occurs conditions" (or something like that).

in any game you have to think the theories that macthes the game... or you may even ask me... not that i know all but i think i know enough.
