I was wondering if people think that its possible to read others thoughts word for word? Also there is a concept of Remote viewing, it is to be able to see what somebody else can see? I think that it might be possible. I've experienced alot of weird events over the past year and i've come to the conclusion that it is possible. In a book called The Alchemist, "The Alhchemist" is able to read the thoughts of a boy. What do you people think about these things?

ah! someone interested in the paranormal!

hmmm...but i thought remote viewing is "seeing" images over a distance, not really words (cuz it's too detailed?). Reading ppl's thoughts and controlling them is called "telepathy" i think.

in my opinion, all of us have psychic powers. but 99.9% of us have the very subtle ones... like if someone is sad, and we may be able to feel it. or a mother's instinct, when their child is in danger. or sometimes we're thinking of a song, suddenly the person next to you starts singing it! or u know outgoing ppl? sometimes when u are around them, you feel energetic or maybe even subdued... some of them GIVE energy, whereas being around certain ppl drains you... the latter is called psychic vampires, as in they take a bit of ur life force away. the latter can be v powerful ppl.

remote viewing, can exist in the form of astral projecting or perhaps even in OBE(out of body experiences). cyberjaya, what have u experienced? v curious

so far I have encountered some of these kind of stufffs and I think it?s normal. I have come across 2 friends who can read minds..
one of the knows my phone number in malaysia even though we r just chatting online...

astral projection is even more normal...
I have invited a talented friend to astral project to me to analyse my aura and personality... it seems when her astral body was in contact with me ... due to the high frequency of astral body I can feel the strong vibrational wave around me... kinda good exeprience...

well, these things are normal if you ask me...
there?s an online course for u to explore these stuffs...

urm...could it be that fellar asked ur fren for it? :P

i think that reading minds has something to do with psychology. sometimes u can know when one's sad or one's happy maybe because of ur ability to analyze situations or people's expressions( their gestures, the way they talk, the way they walk, etc...)? do u people think this is possible?

like if someone is sad, and we may be able to feel it. or a mother's instinct, when their child is in danger.

Though I believe that there maybe genuine psychics out there, there are times where these things are just coincidential. Like Kevinlim said, perhaps we pick up others' feelings unknowingly through their body actions and such. And because you do not know that you've unwittingly picked it up through their body language, you assume that you've read their minds.

or sometimes we're thinking of a song, suddenly the person next to you starts singing it!

This may not be as psychic as you think! :D
Indeed, many researchers from many prestigious institutions have done calculations and research into this and their conclusion is only one: it is possible within the realms of probability. For example, a friend calls you when you think of him. This doesn't mean there's any psychic link or energy or anything. It just means that something that can possibly happen (even though the odds of it are low) has happened. Think of it as a rare coincidence...like winning a four digit lottery. Does it mean you are psychic? No. It just means that you've predicted the winning results correctly.

What I'm more interested in however, is the phenomenon of clairvoyancy - the ability to see dead people. Anyone got anything to share on it?

isnt clairvoyance, the ability to see things that are far away, or in the future? the ability to see ghosts i call watching horror movies :P

Although I'm a fan of the paranormal, I don't exactly dig horror movies. Not sure why, but they just don't interest me. Anyone had a personal paranormal experience then? UFO sightings, alien abductions, bigfoot encounters, etc? Feel free to share em here

hehe this might not qualify, but when i was little (6 or 7) i had this sit at home sitter person, since both my parents work. i remember her as a dark skinned, longhaired, roundfaced woman.

when i was 15 or 16, we met this woman whom my parents clearly recognized as this same sitter, but looks totally different. this woman's face is thinner, pale skinned with slightly chinese features. i didnt recognize her at all. i asked my parents if there were any others before her, they said there wasnt, and all the ones after her are accounted for, that is, they look as i remember them.

and come to think of it, the one i remember, her eyes sometimes glowed red...

An interesting site if you ask me. Usually updated at least once a week with the latest news and interesting articles on the paranormal world.

Mind reading? I've always wondered how does that Blaine guy do his weird tricks- especially when he meets random people on the road and eerily reveals information only known by them. The only explanation other then paranormal stuff would be to work together with the so called random audience.

* USSDefiantNX74205 - abt songs. Coincidence, it may be, but it happened to me and a certain friend of mine a lot (my brother too).

* RandomPhantom - there's a new guy on the block... even creepier than D.Blaine. Can't remember his name though, but he disappeared into a puddle. Somehow it makes me wonder that if they are truly psychic, why the parapsychology researchers (from Rhine etc) do not try to test them? It's so hard to find subjects these days... One of the powerful psychics in history is Nina Kulagina, a housewife from Russia who could move things with her mind and stop a frog's heart etc. Telekinetic. Another, a lady called Felicia, who could deflect the compass's arrow, Oh btw, that link you gave? It's a farce... none of the cards match the ones b4

The paranormal phenomenon I'm interested in are dreams (those kind) and OBE mostly.

that's one of the oldest tricks in the book. (on the web)

For those of you who don't know it yet, the card isn't removed. Instead you're presented with a set of totally different cards. Of course the card you chose isn't going to be in there.

Read the explanations given. They're hilarious.

The funny part is, read the comments posted on the last pages or so. Are these posts for real or are people so gullible?

Anyway, here's a better trick:
Magic trick performed by two magicians, A and B, with one regular, shuffled deck of 52 cards. A asks a member of the audience to randomly select 5 cards out of a deck. The audience member (who we will refer to as C from here on) then hands the 5 cards back to magician A. After looking at the 5 cards, A picks one of the 5 cards and gives it back to C. A then arranges the other four cards in some way, and gives those 4 cards face down, in a neat pile, to B. B looks at these 4 cards and then determines what card is in C's hand (the missing 5th card).

And this doesn't involve cheap tricks, however, it involves maths. Try guessing how it is done. There should be a net version out there.

Hmm, these disappearing acts are always elaborate and set up beforehand. The only difference between those newer acts are special FX and weirder places. In the event of space travel they could come up with teleporting to a rocket or something-just to keep things interesting.

As for humming the same songs... telepathy? I believe it's more often like when you hear a distant hum of a song being played. You subconsciously hum it and the other person picking up the same tune will be thinking about it.

Another 'telepathy' in the same vein would be turning on the radio and hearing the song you were just humming on.

Urm does anyone know what is a dream? Can anyone explain about dream? How come we dream and sometime we don't when we sleep? Does dream serve any purpose?
Izzit true that u wake up more tired if u dream when u sleep compared to u don't dream when u sleep?

hmmm... well, dreams help us relax. there are a lot kind of dreams; senseless dreams, lucid dreams, precognitive dreams, etc. in my opinion, it makes our mind clearer.... maybe it's our brain's way to communicate with us, lol. and those dream interpretation can be accurate. i remember one time my close friend and me had a shouting match and did not talk for a mth. one of the days in that month, i dreamt i was raped and when i looked it up, it means loss of friend, smthg like that.

as for the tired thing, well, there's this theory that has been around for a long time that our soul goes to another world. a parrellel world maybe? =P. like sometimes, you dream u're flying, u wake up feeling adrenaline pumping. or falling down a high-storey building, your heart's pumping and ur sweating. but then again, maybe ur mind is creating those FEELINGS for you. but still believe that sometimes our soul goes a-wandering

does anyone ever get those dreams that someone sits on ur chest, suffocating you? it's quite common.

what do u mean by dreaming someone sitting n ur chest suffocating u? u mean u felt suffocating when u sleep? ppl said u let ghost sit on but i dun believe it. then my physics teacher said u felt like that because ur too tired, ur brain is tired and it made u felt like that.... i dun think i got that kind of dream before.. how does it feels like?[/quote]

so far i remember two:
= was snoozing on bed in my room, dreamt the room where i was lying down in, and felt something bad la, it's as though i can sense the 'movement' coming nearer and something heavy was on my chest. i couldn't breathe so i woke up.
= another time, someone had their hands on my neck, trying to strangle me. invisible someone

my friends also kena b4...

actually, i have this weird dreams, starting since i was 11 (more frequent then, less now). i call it the 'shaking dreams'. 'cause whenever i get those, i feel myself shaking, but physically i wasnt (mom told).

let's just say, it's pretty damn scary for me. for 2 or 3 years, whenever i get that dream, first it's darkness, then come a variety of screams, rising up in volume quick and then fade quick. then comes the image of a blond faceless lady, standing in front of a sign boad, pointing to a cabin. then it's like, the dream will try to get me into the house but i always wake myself up (by turning my body). once however, i 'tahan' my fear and went inside. it's an empty room, but i felt really scared. oh, i will be thinking like i'm awake, but usually i'm scared shitless and ask them what they want, whoever they are.

other than that, once i heard toddlers crying, same as abv, a lot of diff toddlers. another time when i get into the dream (after the screaming and crying), i heard this woman singing a v melanchony song. the volume rised up so much that it hurt my ears.

then when i was abt 15, when i wake myself up after those dreams, when i close my eyes, i see pictures. v clear, but v brief. among those stuff i;ve seen is a floating plastic bag and office desk and a dustbin.

my parents think it's ghosts, but there's also a possibility that it could be precognitive, or my past. maybe i was that woman? i dont know... i havent got it for a long time... now no more introduction (screaming etc), but it'll go straight to the clear but brief pictures.

feel kinda guilty in a way, 'cause i nvr dared to go further, maybe something needs to be settled

sorry, for being cheong hei

wow... what an experience. it sure sounds scary. but i don't dream of creepy stuff often. or at least i don't remember dreaming of creepy stuff often.... i can't really remember what i dreamt when i wake up. but most of the time when i sleep i don't dream of anything. it's juz a blank. how often do u guys dream? i'm not a frequent dreamer :P

creepy stuff?
some people who r devoted in spiritual awakening will face some very scary dreams as tests.
I tell u if u meet this kinda real dream u will find the monster is very very scary one...
they can be very real

the monster is a combination of multiple egos like greed , lust etc.
it?s known as the guardian of tresthold.
in demon such inner guardian is shown as its horn. the tail is the result of dark initiation.

spiritual development requires a person?s self experience.
so to know these things u have to experience them urself....

Kevinlim

icic.... haven't experience anything like that yet. but i'm kinda interested in this kind of things even though i don't really believe in ghosts :P do u all think that this ghost might be juz an illusion?
