Although i am now determine to pursue my study on architecture, but i am still not fully understand what do an architect do. I wondered whether an architect must be very good in drawing? To be frankly, i do not like to draw picture like "mona lisa" but i love drawing which is more to geometry. By the way, i have a feeling of obsession toward buildings.

i'm not quite knowing wat does architecture do...but be4 this i did met an architect...
What she told me is nowadays, architecture does not need good drawing skills, i mean beautiful and arthistic drawing. These days, they use certain software to draw, if i'm not mistaken.

As i know, there are several areas in architecture, landscape architecture, interior architecture, structural architecture and urban planning.

But architect needs to work long and irregular hours...especially when there are projects to do...

My brother is an architect. He is still under training and must further his studies in order to sit for the exam conducted by Persatuan Arkitek Malaysia to become a registered architect.

My brother is very good at arts. It may not be the requirement to be an architect, but it is a bonus because an architect needs to think and design a lot. He always reads a lot of books and magazines related to Architecture to seek inspiration.

The software that he uses to draw his plans is called AutoCAD. It is a highly advanced and sophisticated software. He taught me a bit of 2D drawing. But, when it comes to 3D, I can assure you that it is crazy. I saw my brother draw his plan on a piece of paper. Then, he would use AutoCAD to illustrate his design. A wonderful piece of art, I can say.

Architecture is very challenging. If you are up to challenge, then, Architecture is for you. When you are a student, be prepared to stay awake for more than a day without any sleep. =)
