Classic rock. A genre that I am rather new to but I am starting to like. Share about the coolest rock band here! =D Recommendation of Alternative/indie stuff welcomed too.
I'll start
1. Guns N Roses
2. Velvet Revolver
Both are great classic rock bands :))

:nuts awesome. I usually just listen but I can't sing along. totally different range.
Sweet child of mine is one of my favourites. I love the background guitar sound. I use to think Aerosmith sang that and many people I knew misunderstood it too.

Guns n' Roses? Wohoo! Welcome to the Jungle! I think it has one of the best openings I've ever heard in any song. (Well, maybe except One....)
And they are more towards heavy metal, but I kinda like Black Sabbath, especially Paranoid!

Alternative? Then you should definitely check out The Black Keys! They've been around for a while now and won two Grammys a couple of weeks ago. For Best Alternative Music Album, and Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals (very long title, I know). Here's (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mpaPBCBjSVc) a link to one of their more recent hits.

Tighten Up's a really good song. In fact, their latest album, Brothers, on a whole is a brilliant album. One of my favourite alternative bands is Biffy Clyro, whose album Only Revolutions is a brilliant driving album. Play it when out for a quick blast.

However, if you're into more hardcore types of alternative, check out Mclusky and Future of the Left.
