Hello, been lurking around for a bit. I'm a 17 and going to sit for SPM in no more than 2 months. (D: ) This forum has answered many of my questions so far but it also begs a few of its own. I hope they have not been answered before (and that I'm in the right forum), so, here goes;

1: Scholarships for Pharmacy.

So far, I've gathered from the forums that only JPA offers scholarships for a course in Pharmacy. I may have missed a few threads or posts, but does anyone else know of alternative scholarships offering a course in Pharmacy I could seek?

2: Local Public U's and STPM.

I've done a bit a research and asking around about how one might progress after finishing their STPM and one of the options that I'm still unsure about would be about local public U's. I hear and read that even with admirable results, the government has the final say on what course and where you get to pursue which may or may not be within your interests. How true is this? Also, I hear there will be a restructuring of how STPM will be conducted in certain aspects from next year onwards. Again, is this true?

3: About JPA scholarships.

Say, I applied for an overseas JPA scholarship and I fail to receive it. Is it possible to then receive a similar scholarship but locally instead? Also, how would it be done? Is it automatically offered depending on your performance or do I have to apply/appeal for it?

Thanks in advance!

1. Bank Negara does offer the kijang emas sship which u can choose ur country n course, other institutions like imu also offer partial and full ssship. Australian gov also provides sship for spm trial leavers if i m nt mistaken.
2. Ya true. I have many seniors who end up self sponsoring despite scoring 4.00 in stpm (they din get the courses they want). Priority will be given to local matriculation leavers so I would suggest you to apply for local matriculation if u are planning 2 do phar in iptas. Ya, after restructuring, stpm will be easier because exams are held from semester to semester.
3. U can either apply for program ijazah dalam negara under jpa after ur spm or stpm. Last year jpa does offer local sship for those deserving candidates who fail 2 secure the overseas sship. Bt i dun noe whether this will apply for next yr's application ont.
