although I haven?t seen one yet but I have been listening to the phatom songs a lot..

the pieces are written by andrew lloyd webber and originally performed by sarah brightman... so they are really great songs to listen to...

The song they are performing is Time to say good bye. its single is the best selling singles in the history of germany... enjoy

last time I wanna watch it with some of my ATU friends but I was at that time tight with money... too bad...

i went to there a few times a few years back. i attended their millennium gala concert and some solo performances. i went to a show where this pianist performed Tchaikovsky's Piano Concerto No1 in Bb Minor (1st excerpt). actually i went to the same show twice, 2 consecutive days. it's amazing. man, it's so much better than listening to cd's. the sound is excellent. ooi chean see is one hack of a conductor. i'm proud that she's a malaysian lady. and you'll love the orchestra. they are really good. everybody is perfectly in tuned. not like the Malaysian Symphony Orchestra, where the violin section IMO is not tight enough, in terms of tuning. i enjoy seeing their dresses too. huh, classy.
one of the memorible shows i went to is the one where they played movie themes, such as Star Wars, Gone With The Wind, E.T. damn it's good.
yeah, students will have discounts, but you have to provide your student id. and usually, the cheap tickets sold out quickly. so you might want to book early. i'm talking about big shows, not chamber concerts. if you can, get a box seat. you'll love it. you'll feel like a king, with your people seating below you, and mozart displaying his genius on the stage. damn, it's so good. world class. too bad only around 6 malaysians are playing in the orchestra. but if that's what it takes to maintain the prestige, then let it be.
a reminder, each time you go to the show, dress properly. in some shows, you'll have to wear baju batik or blazer, if you're a guy. well, they might admit you, but you dont want to look too different right. in fact, you want to look so good when enjoying such a show. come early, they wont allow you in if you are late until a proper interval. prepare about $5 for a program book. you'll find some background about the show. and you should come early so that you can have the time to read the program before the show starts. if you're not familiar with classical type concerts, you have to learn when to clap. you dont clap between movements of the same song. just wait until the conductor turn facing the audience. then only you clap. you dont want to be a spoiler. and be prepare to be very very silent, the acoustic of the hall is soo good, a little noise is considered too noisy in the hall. you wanna go with your friends? make sure they appreciate or ready to appreciate such music. it can be boring for some people. you dont want somebody beside u to sleep in the hall. it can be really really annoying.
if you can, try to avoid c-reserve seats, because the view isn't really good. avoid seating in the front rows. go for B. but the sound is all the same, again the acoustic is too good. i donno how much it cost now, but for a considerably good concert, a C used to be around 10-20 bucks, B around 40-60 bucks. i donno about A because i only bought that seat once. i donno how much it cost now. but i'm pretty sure that it's harder to get a ticket now, since they're getting more popular.

one thing i regret. i havent got the chance to go to a concert where the huge concert organ is used. you know what i'm talking about right, those big golden pipes at the back of the stage. once they played Bach's Toccata & Fugue there, if i'm not mistaken. damn, i missed it. damn. damn.
