The book comes with the UPU form and isn't sold separately. I inherited mine from my bro who is a year elder than me. BTW, architecture is Senibina in Malay right?

That's all I can get from the book. I guess you can summarize yourself now which subjects you need to take. I'd say there are a lot of subject combinations available for architecture.

Thank you a lot USSDefiantNX74205!! Thanks for helping me. I think i am in the right path to realise my dream... hehe. I thought i must took Art in order to get architecture course. I am not really have a liking in art but i do love to draw geometry drawing.

Does the requirement to enter local U changing constantly? I hope that someone might shows me the latest requirement for Architecture course(2004/05 preferable)...... i am still afraid that i would made the wrong choice.

Well, the requirements my brother typed there is the latest one. It was what I used to apply for university this year.
One note though, the minimum grade requirements in that books are just the minimum grade requirements to be eligible to apply for the course. It doesn't mean that you would be accepted if you meet those requirements. There are many courses which lists out a relatively low minimum grade requirements for application, yet having high entry requirements (forensics and engineering courses are a few examples). It all boils down to competition among applicants.
I would say use that book only as a guide to what subjects to take to satisfy the subject requirement of the course. As for the minimum grades listed in that book, it would be wise not to use it as a guide for selecting which course to apply, because they list only the bare minimum grades required for application.

Oh i see....! USSDefiantNX74205 is your younger brother? so gohweihan which university that you get? What course are you currently pursuing? By the way, my tuition physcis teacher told us that it is much more easier to get engineering course in Local U and usually 90% of the applicants succeed. Isn't it?

I got UKM to study Computer and Communications Engineering (which is my first choice), but I didn't accept it, as I'm going to Nanyang Technological University in Singapore in a couple of days time to take up Computer Engineering there.
If your tuition teacher is right, then my class (biology and physics combined) of 35 last year wouldn't end up with only 8 engineers (7 from physics, 1 from biology), although almost all of them did applied for at least one engineering course, and the class is overall an average class.

1A (for mathematics), 3A- (for GP, chemistry and physics). I took only 4 subjects.

I checked the stats for my school. 52 students took physics in STPM, 26 get their 1st choice for engineering in IPTA. So, it is 50% for my school.
I am not sure about the breakdown of their grade, but 4 get A in STPM Physics, 8 get A- in STPM physics.. So, that means having somewhere Bs for Physics still have a chance for engineering.
However, just try your best~!

Actually i am targeting for architecture course. My second choice would be engineering.

In my school, 14 took physics, and 7 got engineering (regardless of choice number). So it's half of the number, and that's surely not anywhere near 90 percent.
The thing is, the lowest CGPA from my batch who got engineering is 3.00, and he got Universiti Malaysia Sabah to study Mechanical Enginnering. However, I believe that this year, the minimum entry CGPA would increase.

Basically the art of applying to IPTA is that you should apply based on these 3 things:-
a) Your 1st to 2nd/3rd choice, university courses that you really want to go to... This category, your CGPA may be a little bit lower than the cutoff but as you really are interested in it, give it a good try...
b) Your 3rd/4th choice to 6th choice, apply for courses that pretty interested you and you have about 50/50 chances of getting in... Remember that the cutoff would increase a bit each year, due to grade inflation. So, you need to adjust for that. So, your grade would be around the cutoff for this category.
c) Your 7th and 8th choice, the cutoff is well lower than your CGPA, i.e. you know that you can get into this course for 95% and above and you have interest in this field.
With this, you are 98-99% sure can get into one of your choices in IPTA, which interests you. You have some chances to try for the category 1, but about half of your choices would be in category 2, which you have a fighting chance to get, and you can know that you would get into category 3. With this way of planning, you won't get courses that you are not interested in.
Major problems for UPU applications is that most students only have courses in the category A only. They don't bother to choose courses that they have fighting chance to enter. As a result, they don't get any place from their 8 choices. So, UPU would randomly give them the courses.
