So it depends on which residence you would like to stay. PGP's cut-off point this year was about 41 points.
Thanks for the info. Okay so if I chose PGP, after the second year I would just be allocated to RVR or KFH? Are the cut off points lower there? BTW isn't 41 points kinda high?

Yep. I'm not sure what are the cut off points over there but you'll just be allocated there just because you're guaranteed accommodation for your second year.

Yeah, 41 points is kinda high for residence. The previous year was about 30 only. Anyway, if you think that's high, my hall's cut off point was 54 points this year. Heh. ><

Anyway, there's always off-campus accommodation albeit a little bit inconvenient and slightly expensive.

Oh really? There's no invitation? Hmm, that's weird. Maybe they will send the invitation via email. I can't remember if they sent it together with the offer letter or via email last year. >< But I think it should be the latter since you guys didn't get it in the offer letter.

What's with the "cut-off points"? Means that as long as we earn that points we get accommodation automatically?

How do we know what's the cut off point for each hall?

What does it mean by maximum loan allowable for the whole course or remaining course of study in the amount of financing required column in TFL form? Does it mean the remaining tuition fees after grant or whole tuition fees without grant?

You wouldn't know the exact cut-off point but it would be an approximate based on the cut-off points for the past few years and it depends on the performance of all the residents (how much points they collect). Yes, as long as you exceed the cut-off point of a particular hall, you get to stay in that hall. But, like I've said before, this system is going to change. Not sure how would the point system work for the next academic year.

Wow,that must be a lot of CCAs to join!

I'm planning to apply to stay at KE7 initially as I though it has less demanding cut-off points unlike from what I've heard about Kent Ridge or Eusoff, but I guess I was wrong.

I would still like to experience a hall life though I'm not sure if I can handle so many things at once.

I hope some seniors can provide answers to my ques regarding the QET :

1. I wnt be able to make it for the July QET, therefore can I inform NUS of my absence from QET now or do I only do it during the registration period for QET?

2. Also, do we have to register for QET in July regardless of whether we are able to take it in July or Nov ie. is there only 1 QET registration period for all of cohort 2010/11?

pls help... and thanks a lot
