After making an appeal, she got her scholarship but at the cost of switching from polar opposites ; law to business. I still would like to ask though ; what course did you apply for and for which country? Because I know someone in ReCom (pretty obvious who am I talking about) who got it for this round and for a course that I can barely relate to being of importance to the mass media sector and in relation to the fields you have specified. I applied for this scholarship too but got booted out at the tough first stage ; oh gosh how I hate online tests

Well, a lot of things we cling on to life is not absolute. It's learning to move on from events like these (the more painful ones) that teach us useful life lessons. This door is closed, but doesn't mean others are. Still plenty of ways to finance your studies (not sure if you are overseas bound or local bound) because where there's a will, there's a way. Though Astro's wish may have been insincere, I wish you sincerely all the best

I applied for Economics in UK. My unis were LSE and Warwick as first and second choices. Once Astro asked me to change my course I also secured University of Bournemouth, UK and RMIT, Australia after sending in late applications.

Thanks for trying to console me and the advice. Yeapp, I'm already moving on, already secured another scholarship thank God. I guess in a way it was a blessing in disguise; I escaped from being bonded to a company with such bad track record in their scholarship department. Just wanted to warn the coming generations that these things CAN happen so that they'll be prepared unlike me who thought it'd be unthinkable that they'd toy around with their candidates since uni applications do require payments and a lot of effort for these courses. But here's to moving on

the funny thing is i outright rejected mr aziz's offer. i told him if i do animation or game designing i wont be happy so unless he offer me maths degree, i will not take up his offer. and i got it, a maths read in imperial college london.

also, i thought astro scholarship is a gonner for me already, because the interview session wasnt pleasant, got abit of sparks.

Mm actually, it is unheard of for companies to do such things. In all seriousness, if it really was as such, they could have always just ignored my email when I told them I was willing to switch courses (since they were going to reject me in the end anyway for not sticking by my original course). But they called me a few times, asking me to email them the list of universities and keep them updated on the application. God knows what they were thinking.

But to answer your question, four people were awarded the scholarship.

Four people ONLY ? Wow, that is... few Economics in UK, haha. I also did apply for Economics in UK but rejected my UCAS offers anyway. Oh good for you then. Which scholarship did you secure? Khazanah?

i asked them during the signing of agreement, they said 5 ppl got it

Well.. after signing my own scholarship agreement with another sponsor, I find that 5 is not a surprising number at all LOL

I'm waiting for ASTRO scholarship award 2013 too, the website there stated that 2013 application will be open in March, but till now.. no updates
