Asasi Sains Hayat Unimas

I regret for not making my research earlier before applying, and this is what I've found on Unimas' website:

8 Pemilihan ke Program Ijazah Pertama UNIMAS

Pelajar yang lulus Program Pengajian Pra-Universiti UNIMAS akan berpeluang mengikuti kursus peringkat ijazah di salah satu Fakulti di UNIMAS

Program Asasi Sains Hayat

i) Fakulti Perubatan dan Sains Kesihatan
? WM00 Doktor Perubatan
? WM12 Kejururawatan

ii) Fakulti Sains dan Teknologi Sumber
? WS47 Bioteknologi Sumber
? WS48 Kimia Sumber
? WS49 Sains dan Pengurusan Sumber Akuatik
? WS50 Sains dan Pengurusan Sumber Tumbuhan
? WS51 Sains dan Pengurusan Sumber Haiwan

iii) Fakulti Sains Kognitif dan Pembangunan Manusia
? WP02 Pembangunan Sumber Manusia
? WS24 Sains Kognitif

Does this mean that I'll have ZERO chance to continue my degree in Dentistry/Pharmacy in case I fail to take Medicine in the future? And can I apply to other universities (UM/USM) after my asasi?

..and I found this on UKM's website (admission requirements)
KPM Matriculation Certificate / UM Foundation / Uitm Foundation.

..so does this mean that Unimas Foundation is not recognized?

iamfree i have the question also cuz i got unimas sains hayat but plan to take medicine sumwhere else. UM? UKM? been wonderin is it possible to switch after asasi @ unimas?

i guess ur sarawakian also huh?

Hi y'all!

Since u get Unimas asasi sains Hayat, I suggest that u just enroll, focus on your studies and get 4 flat results. Once u get the desired results, then only you wld be eligible to apply for medic course in UM, UKM & etc. Even if u r in UM or UKM, if u didn't get 4 flat, your chances of getting medic course is very slim.

From what I've gathered, it is possible to switch to medic course in UM, but your asasi results must be equally gd if not better (if there's any better results than 4 flat!!)

But if u r very keen to go to asasi sains hayat in UM, just try your luck and appeal. No harm's done.

Phew!~ it makes me feel better to know that someone else is also in the same boat as me. Yes, I am a Sarawakian - I also got offered to Matriks, and that's why I'm in dilemma.

yea same here! but i didnt apply matriks n so only unimas. i probably jz go there. haha

Thank you very much! you made me feel a lot better. I have some things in my mind right now..what if I didn't manage to get 4 flat in asasi - can I continue doing my degree in other courses outside Unimas, because the degree programs within Unimas are quite limited.

This is because if I choose Matriks, and if I fail to get 4 flat, I'll still have the chance to choose for a wide choice of courses from various IPTAs, am I right?

hey iamfree dont u think upu send us 2 unimas simply bcuz we're from sarawak? not bcuz of our results.
i heard sumone i know with b+ bio can enter UM sains hayat but tat person lives in the peninsular. weird huh.

Did you make Unimas your first choice when you applied? I did - well I should have chosen UITM or UM (I wasn't aware about this situation). Did you get straight As? A lot of my friends (who didn't get straight As) did make Unimas their 1st choice but failed to get it. So for some reason, I feel thankful that at least I got what I applied for

thank u for enlightening. um was 1st choice for me bt unimas was 3rd. i did get straight As (no bragging rights here) so a bit dissapointed but i bersyukur lah..haha
