Hey guys. Since last year's Singapore Scholarship thread was indeed informative I felt an imperative to create another one to facilitate discussions.

I intend to apply this year's scholarship, and I'm looking for friends to share our thoughts on the process of applying.

If any of you have queries regarding the scholarship please check here before posting.

First of all, do I have anyone cracking their heads on the essay just as I do?

I plan to apply too! It is said that applications usually open in April.

What are the topics for the essay?

Hello there. You should do some research on the scholarship here. It opened again on the 28th of November this year and will be closing on the 23rd of December 2011, although M'sian CIE A Level and STPM students are allowed to submit by March 2012.

Thank you.

I am planning to apply for it.I just received my A level results.
It has been stated that

"4 copies of the application form and 4 copies of supporting documents must
be submitted to the Singapore Embassy, High Commission or Consulate-General
in your country through the relevant agency responsible for the Singapore Scholarship Award in your country."

I am planning to get the signature from the Head of A Level Programme from my uni instead of going to JPA or Ministry of foreign affairs.
So after that can i submit the forms myself to the singapore high commission or should it be submitted by the head of the programme?

So have I. Congrats for your results vanithavesna. I'm sure you did well.

I think you should confirm with the administrators of the scholarship that they accept an endorsement from your college's Head of A Level programme. The term "school" stated in the scholarship is ambiguous, and I myself intend to have it endorsed by my secondary school principal - since I've to certify my english translations of my secondary school results and doing it through my college would seem rather odd.

Just playing it safely, I'd say.

By the way, would you like to contact me in private? Perhaps we could discuss our essays too.

All the best for your application!

u're right..i guess i'm gonna get the forms endorsed by my sec school principle.

about the essay..
i'm still pondering on what topic to choose..

Initially i wanted to write an essay on why am i applyiing for the scholarship but now i think it's just too common and won't be impressive enough.

i know that the english translation of the documents must be certified.
but do i have to get the photocopy of the original documents certified too?
e.g spm result slip ?

Yup you have to. And that's the annoying part. It'll all amount to hundreds - possibly 200 - papers to be stamped and signed by our teachers! Good lord.

Thank you, sugan. May I know whether you translated the (relatively unimportant) certificates such as Add Maths Project Work, Practical Coursework, Full Attendance and Moral Project certificates?

What kind of documentary evidence you provided for your work experience(s), if any?
