i have confirmed vit my senior that we can accept both while awaiting for scholarship result, in fact i just did that, for ntu, after u accept, there's a withdrawal from acceptance form, but there's none for nus, so i think u can just accept both n wait.

May I know where your senior is studying at? Okay thanks a lot for your information. But I am just worried that they might change their policy this year. Actually this morning I emailed assistant manager of admissions of NUS and ask him on this issue but I haven't gotten any reply yet. Will keep you updated once I got the reply (if I can get it la haha )

So you have already accepted both offer from NTU and NUS? Don't mind telling me what course you got?

Actually I find your batch quite interesting this year. In my time SS Scholarship comes first compared to ASEAN. So if you ask me whether "there is a point" or not, I seriously don't know how to answer. From what I know, my friend who did better than me in school told the interviewers that he 'applied' for quite a lot of scholarships, and he ended up not getting SS. But I only applied SS, I didn't apply directly to NUS nor NTU, and I got it. So I'm just saying, by getting ASEAN in NTU now will result in them either (1) removing your ASEAN and taking up your SS, or (2) simply put you out of the list and award SS to other students. Sure, go ahead for the interview, but what will actually turn out from it, I think it will be for you to find out from the officers.

But for those who got ASEAN already, I suggest, seriously, to accept the offer. Since their last election, the Singapore government has decreased Malaysians studying there, not to further mention the small amount of scholarships they are giving out now. It is really, really precious, so don't waste it, and don't be overconfident to think that you can easily get this scholarship. Many of those who went for the interview 'thought' that they had an awesome interview, but got turned down in the end, so yeah.

Getting admitted to both NUS and NTU doesn't matter when applying SS. In the end, the SS scholarship overrides the decision of the University, but there's a tendency that they will give you the same course that you were offered by the Uni if you had (which means, if you were offered Science from NUS, SS Scholarship will not give you Chemical Engine out of the blue). Remember that I didn't apply directly, and they forced NUS to give me a space.

Is there a deadline for you to accept your ASEAN scholarships? From what I remember, ASEAN for NUS comes quite late though, I hear my friends get it way after I got my SS results. I had my interview on 27 April, and got the news on 21 May...

Does that mean that if I go for SS interview my ASEAN scholarship from NTU will be cancelled, even in the event that I'm not offered SS? I understand that the competition for SS is extremely stiff and I know I stand a very low chance of getting it. However, I am just thinking that it's better for me if I could try my best and seize every chance and opportunity. FYI, yesterday I called Singapore Commission and the officer told me I can still go for SS interview although I've been offered ASEAN from NTU. She told me that ASEAN undergraduate scholarship is offered by NTU itself, not by SG government, so there will be no conflicts between these two scholarships.

Also, for NTU ASEAN scholarship, the deadline of acceptance is on 14th of May. NUS just emailed me and ask me to attend their ASEAN scholarship interview on 14th of May. So I am really confused now. Can I accept offer of admission from both university first, then wait for news of scholarships, then only I make final decision? I tried emailed NUS but I haven't gotten any reply yet. But the deadline of acceptance of offer of admission is tomorrow, 4th of May. So yea, I am very confused. May you please advice me on this matter? Thanks for your help

I can't answer your first paragraph.I were to say anything it would be plain speculation.

I know you can accept both ( I did that ), but try to reply them (asap), once you have made you decision, and do have a courtesy to tell them your reason too.

Hi all, just want to say sorry for the wrong info? I just called NTU and ask them whether the ASEAN Scholarship is awarded by NTU or by Singapore Government. They told me the fund actually comes from MOE of SG. I'm kinda confused here as I am receiving 2 different versions of explanation. SG High Commission told me it's by NTU, but NTU told it's by MOE (although administered by NTU). Nevertheless, both parties told me that it's okay for us who have gotten ASEAN Scholarship from NTU to also go for interview of Singapore Scholarship. There will be no conflicts between these two scholarships, and we can decide which scholarships we would take if we are awarded both. I hope it's true though, as my enquiries are done through telephone conversation, no black and white as a proof. hope it helps, cheers

I have just called and confirm with office of admissions of NUS, and I was told that it's okay for us to accept both universities first, then only we decide which one we would go to. Just a confirmation though. cheers
