UK universities for Law I know or heard of are good are places like King's, the OxBridge, LSE, Exeter, Reading and a lot more. You know, you should really go look up university statistics, it will give you a pretty rough gauge as to which is good. Go look up leaguetables, the times or QS World University rankings on Google. In fact I just did and so can you ! If you'd like senior recommendation, there is only so much they can tell you about the choices outside of the one they are currently studying or have graduated from. Besides, one person's choice may not be the best for you. Don't forget if you are heading to UK for law, you need to take the LNAT examination yeah.

There isn't really such a thing as 'reliable' when it comes to rankings, because rankings themselves are always subjective. It all depends on what methodology the surveyor uses in scoring these institutions.
Some stats also don't apply to law students. For instance, you don't really need your university to be strong on research because it doesn't really speak to the quality of education you'll get there (diff for science students, for example). But by looking at different tables and seeing which unis generally pop up consistently, you'll get an idea of the unis that people generally consider good for the subject. I also recommend you look at the Guardian's rankings, because they have subject-specific rankings - so you can look up their law school rankings. I personally don't like looking at overall world rankings because plenty of institutions are known for specific studies, but because they're not overall strong they don't feature prominently. Lastly, go to The Student Room. Find their law sub-forum. Lots of useful FAQs and threads for noobs there - was quite informative. And honestly you'll have more students there to answer your questions, and they know better. Good luck. |
