Okay, I'm harsh, sometimes.
Anyway, rather than the criticism of the language ability of our local teachers, my main point is that often times, it is better to write your own testimonial.
Your teacher doesn't understand you as much as you do yourself.
Your teacher is preoccupied with mountainous work loads, you're not.
Your teacher has exhausted creative ideas after decades of work, you haven't.
Your teacher has to write similar testimonials for a bunch of other students.
Your teacher will not walk the extra mile to write a brilliant recommendation for you that's bound to present you as first-class university material; only you, the applicant, will do that.
But that, of course, is still subjected to your own writing ability and whether you're fortunate enough to have a reliable teacher.
