Well I do not know in detail but I do have a general idea of the three options. In my opinion TARC ACCA is the best since its for 3 years and you get 3 qualifications. And mind you TARC is a Platinum institution for doing ACCA along with SYUC. So its in the best two for doing ACCA in the region. So do your best pick it's really up to you at the end of the day. Best of luck

TARC- 2 years diploma + 2 years advanced diploma (internal assess part 2 ACCA) + top up 1 sem in uk for a degree(can choose not to go uk and straight take ACCA) + 3 more papers to ACCA.
UTAR- 1 year foundation + 3 year degree + 3 more papers to ACCA
MATRIC- 1 year + 4 year degree + 3 more papers to ACCA

TARC is cheaper than Utar but need quite a lot of money to go uk. unless u are very confident to get good result in matric, then only can go public u coz accounting is a critical course
The trend is got money go Syuc no money go TARC

Any UTAR students can help me with this question..

I read from the website that the "Bachelor of Commerce (Hons) Accounting" is a 4-year course ...

In the website, it is stated like this:

Year 1

Financial Accounting Framework I & II, Business Law, Principles of Microeconomics, Principles of Macroeconomics, Quantitative Techniques I & II, English for Business, Financial Information for Management, Principles of Business Management

Year 2

Advanced Financial Accounting, Auditing, Accounting Information Systems, English for Management, Business Finance, Taxation, Performance Management, Audit Practice, Company Law, Information Technology for Management

Year 3

Advanced Accounting Practice, Advanced Taxation, Research Methodology and Project, E-Commerce, Corporate Reporting and Current Issues, International Finance, Management Accounting Decision Making, Corporate Governance, Business Ethics

Electives

Organisational Behaviour. Marketing, Entrepreneurship, Human Resource Management, Strategic Financial Management, Business and Society, Malaysian Company Secretarial Practice
I see that there are only Year 1, Year 2 and Year 3....where's the fourth year?????

It is also stated that the Industrial Training is taken during YEAR 3 (6 months) ....so is it at the end of YEAR 3??

So, students will graduate right after their Industrial Training? Or are there a few more semesters?

Thank You

Start from July 2009 onwards,

TARC AFA (Advanced Diploma in Commerce) Financial Accounting, can proceed to Birmingham City University to take up Master of Science in Accountancy and Finance for 6 months since the BCU only specifically choose AFA to be equivalent as full qualified ACCA...

AFA students have 2nd choice besides the Top up summer program to get the Bachelor Degree in Accounting and Finance from Sheffield Hallam University city for 3 months only...

AFA students can also skip the SHU and go to BCU to take Master Straight away... Fees and living exps would not be so much difference...
AFA students would be fast-tracked to obtain Master for only 6 months...

I wouldn't guarantee to you that TARC's Advanced Diploma in Commerce (Financial Accounting) includes both Accounting and Finance...
But just for your information that, TARC's Advanced Diploma in Commerce (Financial Accounting) actually represents 80% of similarity of the syllabus in ACCA Part 2 and Part 3 stages...

The subjects to be taught are as follows: Part 2
Taxation - (F6 for ACCA syllabus)
Financial Reporting - (F7)
Audit and Assurance - F8
Financial Management - F9
(The above four papers are internally assessed ACCA once you passed, you are able to gain exemption during year 1 of the Advanced Diploma).

Final year, the subjects are: (No exemption is available, students would need to take both internally and external ACCA exams) (Internal exams - marked by TARC lecturers - will normally be conducted 2 months ahead from the date of ACCA) (External exams - Marked by UK lecturers - judged by ACCA global)
3 Core papers:
Professional Accountant (P1)
Corporate Reporting (P2)
Business Analysis (P3)

4 optional papers: as follows: (you are only required to choose 2 out of 4 as per ACCA.

Advanced Financial Management (P4)
Advanced Performance Management (P5)
Advanced Taxation (P6)
Advanced Audit and Assurance (P7)
