A fellow ReComer, Markus Ng (ReCom nick: markuzzz) passed away in sleep today on 4th February 2009. He is just 24 years old. It was a sudden death.

He is a very patriotic Malaysian, carrying a name card of "Anak Bangsa Malaysia". He worked before at Center of Public Policy and his last job was with UNICEF. He was instrumental in linking ReCom.org with the Malaysian Student Leaders Summit.

He just finally got the call-up for interview to be a civil servant last week, after a very long wait, and the interview is supposed to be on 21st February. It is a great loss to our country, to lose such a patriotic, energetic guy.

On behalf of ReCom.org, would like to express our deepest condolences to Markus's family.

Markus joined ReCom.org in Dec 2004, and he has posted 109 posts, with the last posts a few months back.

Markus was also a fresh graduate from Essex.
As he said of himself, "he was deeply attached to Malaysia, although he doesn't know why..." but I supposed we all know why - he was grounded, steadfast, loyal and idealistic.

He will be sorely missed.

Details of wake service: 5th & 6th Feb 2009 at 8pm. Gui Yuan Modern Casket, Jalan 229, Section 51A, Petaling Jaya, Selangor, Malaysia. The funeral service will be held on Saturday 7th Feb 2009.

The funeral procession on Saturday will proceed to Subang Lutheran Church at 9.30am.

Had the opportunity to talk to him during the first malaysian student leader summit.Even though it was more than a year ago, I still remember the polite young man who shook my hand during the summit.

I wonder the cause of his death. Sudden death? I would like to hear more on the causes and the implication of sudden death.

My condolences to Marcus family members.
