JPA India-bound medicine scholars are sent to the following medical colleges in India (Intake Year 2009):

  • Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, Belgaum, Karnataka
  • JJM Medical College, Davangere, Karnataka
  • JSS Medical College, Mysore, Karnataka
  • K S Hegde Medical Academy, Mangalore, Karnataka
  • Sri Devaraj URS Medical College, Kolar, Karnataka
  • Yenepoya Medical College, Mangalore, Karnataka
  • Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences, Karad, Maharashtra
  • Vinayaka Missions Kirupananda Variyar Medical College, Salem, Tamil Nadu


Other medical colleges where JPA scholars are sent to (Not in intake year 2009):

  • Kasturba Medical College, Mangalore, Karnataka
  • Kasturba Medical College, Manipal, Karnataka

Duration of Course

4.5 years + 1 year compulsory internship

General Structure of Course

University examination subjects:

  • I MBBS (Semester 1&2): Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry
  • II MBBS (Semester 3,4&5): Pathology, Pharmacology, Microbiology, Forensic Medicine
  • Final MBBS Part I (Semester 6&7): Community Medicine, ENT, Ophthalmology
  • Final MBBS Part II (Semester 8&9): Medicine, Surgery, OBG, Paediatrics


Students have clinical postings starting 3rd Semester.

Allowance

USD 500 or USD 700 per month depending on the place

  • USD 500: Manipal, Belgaum, Salem
  • USD 700: Mangalore, Davangere, Kolar, Karad, Mysore
