The education system in Malaysia requires all students to take several public examinations over the years in primary and secondary schools. Overview

Articles

Malaysian University English Test (MUET) is a test of English language proficiency, largely for university admissions. The test is set and run by the Malaysian Examinations Council (which also runs the Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia examination) and largely recognized only in Malaysia and Singapore.
Ujian Pencapaian Sekolah Rendah also known as Ujian Penilaian Sekolah Rendah (commonly abbreviated as UPSR, translation: Primary School Evaluation Test) is a national examination taken by all Standard 6 (12-year old) students in Malaysia.
Penilaian Menengah Rendah (PMR) is a Malaysian public examination taken by Form 3 students. It was formerly known as Lower Certificate of Education (LCE) and Sijil Rendah Pelajaran (SRP).
The Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM), or the Malaysian Certificate of Education, is a national examination taken by all fifth form students in Malaysia.
The Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM, English: Malaysian Higher School Certificate) is a pre-university examination taken by students in Malaysia. It was formerly known as the Higher School Certificate (HSC). The HSC was the precursor to the GCE A levels in the UK, and is still the name of the pre-university examination in some states in Australia.
