Projek Kalsom is an annual charity project organised mainly by Malaysian students studying in the United Kingdom. It is a collaborative effort between Kelab Kalsom and United Kingdom & Eire Council of Malaysian Students (UKEC). The objective of Projek Kalsom is to educate and motivate Malaysian students from underprivileged backgrounds. Over a week-long camp involving seminars, games and discussion sessions, the students are encouraged to improve their English, taught about the various careers, degree courses and scholarships and help them set goals for themselves and outline possible paths towards achieving their goals.

Projek Kalsom is in currently in its 17th year, a year which has thus far seen many Kalsom firsts, including a planned ?Hope? Charity Gala, collaborations with LSE?s SIFE and the University of Bristol and official support from the Ministry of Youth and Sports. The camp this July will be held in Melaka, and roughly 60 facilitators will supervise and interact with 250 students selected by the state?s education department will be participating.

We believe that it is the facilitators that make Projek Kalsom successful, and this is where you come in: applications for future facilitators of the 17th Projek Kalsom camp are now open, and we invite everyone to apply! This year, facilitators will be chosen to achieve maximum variety ? in both degree choice and educational path ? to offer our student participants a more comprehensive view of the various opportunities available.
