you dont need do be Ph.D in econ to get a work, but for actuary, u need to pass the exams in order to get work. no nid choose la, just do it based on your capability.

IMO, biology as a science subject should not having disadvantage on applying, and they say they prefer you have 1 science.

They have to follow the guideline, but the high number of applicants in econ course have made them to limit their choices.
