Btw, UTP has 7 months internship while local only have 3~4 months of internship right?

In what way and what sense is someone with 7 months internship is more preferred than someone with 3~4 months of internship?

Do enlighten me

The industry tends to favour graduates with 7 months (I used to have of internship because 7 months is quite a long time. In that period, you can be exposed to projects and you would have already managed to settle down in the company and perhaps participate in tasks that a fresh grad would be expected to do. You have at least six months of work experience in the company (that is, if you assume taking one month for you to adapt in the new environment), and if you are involved in a project, six months may be just nice for you to finish it up.

A student with 3 or 4 months internship, on the other hand, wouldn't be exposed extensively to the industry. If you were to take a month to adapt to your new surroundings, you have about 2 months left to learn as much as possible and work as much as possible. If you are talking about technical exposure, there isn't much that you can do in that 2 months. This may not be true for medical students though - I believe that even a month of exposure in the working environment is a lot for a medical student.

Oh.... nice to hear that the industry would favor 7 months internship graduates

Something off-topic: Do you know when will be the next APEX university selection? In the past APEX selection, UTP also participated in it right? Was it chosen by government or UTP applied for it?

But seven months internship alone is no basis for companies to hire you. It may be an advantage for you, but it's not an advantage that is given a lot of weightage. Whatever it is, just remember this: don't rely on the university to give you an upper hand. Put in effort yourself to have a notch against others.

As for APEX, I have no idea what it is. So I can't comment.
