Sometime, i agree/disagree with a post but don't wish to elaborate.( due to any reasons)

Moreover, why would one 'like' an opinion ? How does liking opinion gives any good feedback to the poster?

PS: thank could serve as ' agree' , but ' disgree'
I suppose if you 'like' an post, you would be saying that you agree with it, or that you like it. lol. It's probably also due to the influence of FB lah.

While it says "thanks" in the function, the use has generalised to "approval" as well. So it could be used whether you thank, like, approve or endorse a post. While there could be a place for a finer distinction between these different types of feedback, we believe that having them separately would clutter the page dramatically and may be an overkill.

I am appreciative of the suggestion to make the "thanks" section shorter and cleaner. Our technical team members are currently inactive in ReCom so it could take a while if we were to implement it. Thanks for the feedback though and keep an eye for changes.

4 people confirmed to have been brainwashed by Facebook.

If you're out of technical team that means I can hack your site any day.

Just saying.

Since the first time I've been here, I assume that 'Thanks' button serves as 'Like' button as in Facebook =.=

Before the Like button, Thanks button has been popularised in so many forums that in one way or another it influences the decision by FB developers to include the function. You could say that "Like" was 'inspired' by the thanks button.

And just a trivia, in the original plan FB developers wanted to use "awesome" instead of Like, but Mark disagreed and went with Like instead. [citation needed]

But if you ask me, I'd choose upvote/downvote any day over all of these like/thanks/awesome craps
