I ran several 3.x vB before and am quite familiar with the thanks mod button. I want to suggest a slight modification to it so it won't stand out too much from the original content.

Instead of this:

Make it more like this:

or when there is only one like:

Also change the "Thanks" button to "Like" accordingly.

Cheers

I like that suggestion. (no pun intended) can the mods work that out?

I think "thanks" and "like" serves different purposes.

Although as Facebook gained popularity people on recom.org (maybe just me) have been using "thanks" to mean "like" in the facebook context.

I used to think that there should be a 'like' button. But now I'm used to it and it doesn't matter so much anymore The 'thanks' button serves the same purpose here over the years

I think the line between "Like" and "Thanks" is getting blurry but, I will leave the debate to more experienced Recom members to decide.

My only concern is that the Thanks box is a little intrusive, when serving only minor purpose. Make it minimalist then it's perfect!

You can always change the phrase to "User A, User B thanked User C for this post".

Hardly know anything about programming outside modern browser lingo

I'll give a 'like' or 'thanks' for that IMO, the box is a little big for comfort.

since, this is a forum usually we 'agree' or 'disagree' with post. so, I think it would be better to have agree n disagree. ( it serve as a way to know how many people agree/ disagree) with a post.

Sometime, i agree/disagree with a post but don't wish to elaborate.( due to any reasons)

Moreover, why would one 'like' an opinion ? How does liking opinion gives any good feedback to the poster?

PS: thank could serve as ' agree' , but ' disgree'
