Following last year’s success, the Malaysia Public Policy Competition (MPPC) is back, determined to be bigger and better!
This year, the MPPC will feature an even wider range of seminars and workshops, providing more meaningful and productive interactions with esteemed personalities. A panel of the top academics, vocal groups and current policy-making authorities of pertinence will engage openly and critically on cases carefully tailored according to feedback from past participants. To enable deeper insights into the chosen areas and to facilitate more extensive policy-making experiences, the length of the competition has been extended to 3 days 2 nights. By the courtesy of INTAN (National Institute of Public Administration), food and lodging will be fully covered! So what are you waiting for? The MPPC is a case-based competition which provides local and overseas Malaysian students an opportunity to take on the role of a Malaysian public policy maker. It aims to give students a taste of the policy-making process in a real world context. Through this competition, participants will get to understand the importance of conception as well as implementation, and to tackle common policy dilemmas “in balancing “right” and “popular” policies. The MPPC 2012 promises to be an engaging and intellectually stimulating occasion in which you will be presented with the opportunity to articulate and advocate your ideas. Engage top academics in lectures and interact with highly qualified peers who share a similar passion and curiosity with regards to public policy and the policy-making framework. The competition is open to all Malaysians enrolled in a full-time undergraduate degree or pre-university programme locally or abroad. Pre-university students are eligible for the Competition on the condition that they have received an offer letter from a university. In addition to that, fresh graduates are also eligible to participate in the competition as long as they have not started on any post-graduate courses. Some details of the competition are as follows: Date: 7 to 9 September, Friday – Sunday Venue: INTAN’s main campus in Bukit Kiara, Kuala Lumpur Note: Participants are required to remain on campus from the whole duration of the competition. Sign up in teams of 4 now, at our website: http://icmsmppc2012.blogspot.com! Registration closes on the 12th of August 2012. Do feel free to email us at icms.mppc2012@gmail.com , tweet us @MPPC2012 or look us up on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/MPPC2012 if you have any enquiries! |
