#1 Old 17-09-2010 Default Cocurricular marks

I am currently doing my matriculation programme now and I just realised that my secondary courricular marks which is only 73% is quite low compared to most of the students who managed to get at least 80% and above.Since the 10% kk marks for entry into IPTAs for matrics students comprise of 5% from secondary school and the other 5% from matrics,I might not be able to get a very high kk marks. Thus,I am thinking of asking my guru KK from my secondary skul to increase my marks to 78%.BUT,my lecturer told me that in order to do that my guru kk would hv to resend my marks to the kementerian which can be a hassle to my teacher.Does anyone try this before?tq.

May i know you are from which matric?

I am a former matriculation student and i faced the same problem too last year. In fact, my secondary school koku marks are much lower than yours. But, that would not be a big problem actually. Since you are in matric, you can be pretty sure that you will have a high mark for your matric koku marks as over there, attendance contribute to most of the marks. Just make sure you attend all koku class. Besides, all koku activities in matric are considered as state-level and will be given high marks.

After all, koku will just make up 10% of your total mark for entry into IPTA. 90% depends on your academic result. Chances to get CGPA 4.0 in matric are very high especially for science students. The same thing cannot be said for STPM students. Here, you are already ahead compared to others.

During my batch, most of my friends got their 1st or 2nd choice for IPTA and just a small number of them get the 3rd and 4th. So, don't worry too much about koku mark and focus on your study instead.

Btw, enjoy your matric life! It's a once in a lifetime experience.

hey der, im from melaka matric and now in usm pharm. if you feel that your chances are abit low then aside from applying upu, do apply usm...that's because aside from pointers and ko k...your communication skills are as important because you will be going through interview. my coursemates are not all 4flat-ers...you stand a better chance then in med, pharm and dentistry...

well 4flat equal to 90% plus your ko k marks...den u get per100%...if u mean how ko k marks are awarded then its up to the level of your activity-school,state,national and also the ko k lecturer you have because he is the one that keys in your details (in melaka matrics)... there were cases that certain lecturers didnt key in all activities and students get lesser marks, my practicummate was a victim...nothing can be done to change it,it's final...so keep good ties with your lecturer...seriously...

What i wanted to know is do they have persatuan, uniform marks as we did in secondary school? then the marks will be average into 100% before being converted in 10 % merit in upu.

In matric, you're just required to join only ONE club/unifrom body. The 10% marks will solely based on that particular ONE club only.
