Our planes do not fall from the sky. Staff can be trained but admittedly it will take quite some time, perhaps even longer to instill a safety culture.

In any case the decision must be made carefully and the public consulted as a nuclear power program will last almost a century ; planning&construction (~ 10 years ) , operations (40-60 years ) decommissioning ( ~30 years ).

The gov should consider public's opinion instead of insisting to continue. I really think when we have made such plants, we'll have too much energy, unless there's some plans(like selling electricity to neighbouring countries).

with the increase of electricity ... then reduce the price =D
can also reduce the usage of non-renewable resource like petroleum...
bring in more electrical cars ... use electrical stove .... and so on

the issue of generating electricity is still the main issue. there is still no point using electrical car or other electrical devises as an alternative to crude oil based devises. since, most of our energy is still generated by fosil fuels( coal, natural gas , petroleum)

ya.... most of our energy are still generated by fossil fuels.. that's why we're a developing country.... think GREEN~ about the technology? time and effort must be done..... cant be done in a night XD ....it takes time.... therefore its not a very near future... but it will happen somehow depends on the rate of our improvement and enhancement in technology

By Asrul Hadi Abdullah Sani

KUALA LUMPUR, March 21 ? The Penang state government today sent a letter to Energy, Green Technology and Water Minister Datuk Seri Peter Chin urging the government to reconsider plans to build nuclear power plants in the country.
The state wanted the federal government to reject the proposal and instead explore alternative energy sources in the country.
Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng (picture) said the government should reconsider the plans considering its poor track record of some of its projects.
He said Malaysia?s nuclear power plant plan should be cancelled in light of the most serious nuclear crisis in world history since the Chernobyl disaster 25 years ago that Japan was now facing given its expertise and very advanced and progressive technology.
?It should be noted nuclear fusion technology in our country is limited compared to Japan?s expertise. Moreover, developed countries with high technology such as Germany and China, the world?s second largest economy, have already cancelled plans to build nuclear plants in their countries,? he said in a press statement.
Lim added that public confidence was still in question after the Terengganu stadium roof collapse in 2009. . . . . . .(click for more)
