#1 Old 03-08-2006 Default August 27th - Mars as large as moon.

I received an e-mail claiming that Mars' size to the naked eye is getting bigger night by night starting August 1. The reason is Jupiter's gravity force is intercepting blah blah blah.. i don't understand after all.

Anyway, by August 27 2006, it will reached it's biggest size to the naked size... Not sure is it true but they claimed that it will be as large as moon.

Any support to this claim ??

I don't think it is true. At 2004 it was said that Mars was closest to Earth since 30000 years ago or something. I led a group of people to the planetarium to sight it. Having Mars as big as the moon is quite unlikely.

i doubt it's as big as the moon. but then, it's an email. Don't trust email by strangers or that one that friends forward them to you.

in 2004, when they claimed that mars is nearest to earth in a century, and it was just slightly bigger than average stars.
BY the way, theres nothing in the Sungai Petani sky..
