The Princess and the Frog. Simply horrible. I sat through it for half an hour before finally turning it off. I. Simply. Could. Not. Finish. It. It. Was. That. Bad.

I watched that yesterday and I was extremely disappointed. The Holocaust angle (which can be used to great effect) had nothing new, the actors (save the Diamond girl and James McAvoy) weren't attractive (or even famous), and there was one part of the movie where the Energy-Absorbing-Guy said "Slave" and the camera focused on the black guy (which I found was offensive).

Also too many characters, too little character development and a seriously sucky looking Beast.

I won't be watching another X Men movie again. 3 disappointments in a row. From now on I'm sticking with Iron Man

Actually, I thought it was a pretty good film (as a film by itself) and much better as an X-Men film (compared to the other two). So what if there are no "famous" actors? There was good acting and that counts. McAvoy and Fassbender do their parts impressively, and they don't come off worse for comparing with Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart because they do it differently.

I do agree with some of your points though. Character development is lacking, though it must be noted that it was never the point of the film to develop the 'other' X-Men - the primary focus was always the Magneto-Xavier relationship (though I feel that was pretty rushed, but it DID turn out well done - again, kudos to the actors). I've also seen mention of the 'slave' part before...can't say anything about that, but I understand that people were offended.

Still, it's the best one since X2 - Wolverine didn't even pretend to have a plot nor plug its many many plot holes, and X3 included too many mutants for no reason (for First Class at least the mutants had roles to play, even if they were small). What I blame for holding the film back from being really good was the rushed production schedule and the uncertainty of possible sequels. The whole thing was filmed and produced in...11 months, if I'm not mistaken. With what was handed to him Matthew Vaughn did really well - that said, it would've been better to stretch the film's material over 2-3 films, giving secondary characters more development and giving Magneto more time as well. But after X3 and Wolverine I think Fox was not about to guarantee a sequel for this, hence in the interest of covering everything they crammed it all together...all things considering it turned out well and it was good enough for me to watch twice

As for movies I'd un-recommend...AVATAR. Didn't anyone else think it was overrated? Sure, it was visually great, and I don't deny that Cameron's world-building here was genius. But a very recycled plot and in-your-face blatant anti-imperialism/environmentalism issues made it a little draggy and predictable - the White Saviour idea only made it more annoying. Good film maybe, but I'd not watch it more than once and with so many other movies out there I wouldn't recommend it.

Also, just to rattle some off:
- Transformers 2 (Can't stand Shia LaBeouf)
- Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (Aliens? Really? - there's also Shia LaBeouf hahaha)
- Alice in Wonderland (ugh)
- Twilight (even my sister, a fan, said it sucked)
- Eragon (possibly a worse adaptation that Twilight)

I haven't watched as many bad bad movies lately...so my list is a little old...

I actually found Twilight entertaining. Watched all 3 movies, and am watching the fourth when it comes out. It's not my typical fare, but it's fun to branch out once in a while.
