When politicians put his own interest ahead of people's welfare, we will always get the same outcome regardless of the party of the politician.

Obviously even if PR failed to take over the gov completely the changes in the current gov over the years because of the pressure PR is giving to them is easily enough to make up for that. Even gov supporters have to give credits to PR. In any case Malaysian would be stupid if they ever withdraw their support to anti-gov parties like PR.

Pakatan Rakyat is running out of steam, and is currently trying to "create" issues to attract votes. The latest in the series of stupid press moves from Annuar is the so-called APCO-Worldwide row.

http://www.themalaysianinsider.com/i...ne-in-apco-row

Along the same line of thought, I think we should expel Intel Corp. from Malaysia, since they have a major processor-design division there. We should stop buying our computers, since they are mostly equipped with Intel processors and chip-sets. We should also terminate our trading ties with the Unites States, as they openly support the existence of Israel.

These arguments are wild, and it will get wilder if Annuar gets his way.

I believe that there are more pressings issues like corruption, transparency and accountability of government's actions in Malaysia than the worry about whether the firm that we engage has dealings with Israel. This, is where we should focus on and correct...

Now I only wish the rest of the Pakatan Rakyat is more sensible in this issue... (sighs)

Anyone from Hulu Selangor here? Campaigning has started already - no matter who you support, please go back to vote. If you know someone who is eligible to vote in this by-election, please go explain why they should go back and vote.

You can read about why from RPK: http://malaysia-today.net/index.php?...&Itemid=100087 Remember 30% of Hulu Selangor voters are out station.

If you're from the south, you might able to join this rombongan: https://airkosong.com/_/2010/04/16/t...rom-the-south/

----

If you happen to be a staunch supporter of PR, and having troubles communicating with Chinese friends and family due to language barrier, here's a (obviously very PR standpoint) open letter to the HS voters. You can just forward this, or use it as a vocabulary base to engage people to discuss intelligently on how the country should move forward.

(Or of course, if you disagree, you should comment on this forum sorry I don't have time for translation)

So far I would say that PR has done a fairly good job for a newcomer. Still too young to take over. Ideally cooperation with BN will strengthen our government, but of course, for PR to fully govern Malaysia, that will take some time, but hopefully it'll happen soon, if BN continues the way it is now.

That's true from a big picture, somewhat romantic view, with many anecdotes kind of view, but this by-election is unlike many others: The candidate at stake here is Zaid Ibrahim, a person whom, regardless of which party he works for, should be in the parliament. In fact, I would argue that all MPs from all parties should be able to articulate visions and defend justice like Zaid Ibrahim.
