hey there, I have just finished my SPM last year and still waiting for my result now. Yesterday i went to the Edu Fair in Mid Valley and i found out that MCKL is quite a good college for A level program. I also know that MCKL do offer scholarship for students with straight A's in the actual SPM result. However, i wanna ask whether i can combine the science subjects and the art subjects??? Will the timetable clashes between them??? It's because i'm interested in taking Further Maths, Maths and Economics as preparation for my degree in actuarial science later on. If not, what is the suggested subject should i take besides economics?? Is Applied ICT have any relation with actuarial science???

Upon finishing my A Level in MCKL, how can i apply for the universities in overseas such as LSE and City University London??? Do i need to apply for another scholarship and how can i do it??? Hope someone can clarify it and thanks in advance.

Well, the timetable may be different for the March intake so I can't really tell. However, for my intake (Jan) I couldn't take Econs with Chemistry because the subjects clashed. Maths, FM and Econs wouldn't clash if you followed my timetable though. Applied ICT is not offered at MCKL >.> (I don't know which colleges offer it)

Yes, an A levels at MCKL is still a GCE A level. It's just under a different syndicate (Edexcel). I think there's an admissions office here which helps students with their applications (but don't get the idea you won't have to put in any effort to apply XD) If you're looking for another scholarship to get into those Unis I can only think of JPA Tajaan Tambahan (not sure if that's still going), Khazanah and Sime Darby. If your degree is finance related perhaps BNM would sponsor you too. But regarding further maths, If your understanding of Physics f4 Chapter 2 is not really too strong and your addmaths is just an average A1 (like mine) you might have to struggle a lot. It is no pushover.

As for your last subject, just take Physics because it complements any maths subject.

Well i guess it would be the same with your timetable if i go into July intake, but i afraid i would not enjoying the 100% tuition waiver anymore. Well, that means i can mix the science subjects and art subject together as long as they do not clash their timetable right? and for the further maths, i think i don't have to worry too much because the two things u have mentioned seem not the problems for me. I would like to take actuarial science as my degree later on, so i think sime darby, BNM, khazanah and JPA sponsor that, just that i'm still not sure how it's work. Do i have to undergo interview just like the SPM applicants? well i guess it will... i have no idea about it, just guessing...

sigh. this may be subjective. But if you have the money, don't go there. Environment sucks. Though with the old building up it may not be too bad

well the cash in my wallet aren't really sufficient and i don't think i can even afford to go MCKL for A-Level. If i don't have any percentage of tuition waiver or scholarship offered by any body including MCKL, I afraid that i might go study F6 in the end. So, if i have a cheap place to study A-Level with good lecturers, i don't really mind to go there.

One of my classmates once introduced this school (MCKL) as one of the cheaper place to study pre-u courses. Its not "very" cheap, but at least its cheaper than Taylors, Sunway, etc. Its okay to study in a not-very-good environment with the heart and attitude to study and I'm sure nick got that.

yeah i found out that MCKL is one of the cheapest place to study pre-u courses in the Higher Education Fair that was held in Mid Valley on last Saturday. If i couldn't secure any scholarship when the actual result came out, i think i will study A-Level in MCKL provided some percentage of tuition waiver is awarded, even though there are always uncertainties in pursuing A-Level. And i agree with BB that the most important thing in study is the heart and attitude when studying, for the environment is just the minor factor (for me at least). The environment of MCKL not really bad though.
