Ok, what about Accounting, Further Mathematics, General Paper? Lets say one studies really hard for these subjects using the recommended references and so forth, without a lecturer's guidance, is an A grade obtainable? Not forgetting Economics and English Literature in the above post.[/i][/b]

This is an arbitrary topic.

If I work hard enough, I will win the Noble Prize.

If I work hard enough, I will be richer than the richest man in the world.

Notice any contradictions your brain picked up after reading these statements, without you even typing any reply yet?

Notwithstanding nothing is impossible, I would strong discourage you to work alone for Literature in English. This is a demanding subject I would say, it would be quite tough for you to do it through self-study.

Btw, you do know the syllabus, do you?
Prose and Poetry for paper 3, Drama for paper 4, Drama for paper 5, and critical appreciation for paper 7.

Impossible is nothing.

Did Einstein come up with his Special Theory of Relativity just because someone told him the two postulates?
